Thankyou luke appreciate the help and your time, as i said im not sure what the metro body is made up of at the rear but looks to be the rear panel and then a inner panel that spot welds to the boot floor and rear panel + the slam panel there for the boot lock which im guessing welds the the inner closing crossmember panel and rear panel to create a stronger box section cavity (really just guessing names and build design here haha
Anyone hanve an exploded diagram ?

If I you decide to sell mate I was after it! missed it though.... So ye, drop me a PM
Indeed it was, were you bidding ? haha
If i decide to sell youd be my first point of contact ,..............BUT ...........i aint selling not if i can avoid it anyway
Done quite a few miless on the back today in and out of bolton and then into horwich and now im just getting ready for a interview so not much TMF time or mini time as usual but i managed to phone a guy i know up and i can get a metro shell rear end (seat crossmember to the rear) for £130 delivered
Seems a good deal but i belive its a different model yet he says its the same "the only difference between these models was the screen the grille" (he said something along those lines) any metro brains are welcomed to help, membership still hasnt been activated for MOC forum nor have i gotten an e-mail yet so TMF metro guys are all i have for help so thanks

HAHA! I wasn't mate, I missed I it fortunately!
Im only 30 minutes or so from the cars previous location on the Ebay advert so planned to pop down at the weekend, view/offer cash and drive it away but hey.... Didn't happen, I got my weeks mixed up! Didn't have another week to go like I thought :-(
ive got a MK2 mate, looks VERY VERY similar and im converting that to mk1 spec. The front subframe and headlight panel is different, the bonnet slam panel mounts differently.
As for the rear... It all looks very similar! If you'd like to come look at my mk2 to compare your more than welcome, its in bits at the minute. Im in Lathom, Lancashire.
It took ages for my account to be verified on MOC, gave up in the end and tried signing in a couple of days ago and it worked! was a good 6 months since I tried activating account but nothing happened for a few weeks that's for sure!

Ahh i see, when i went down i was going to offer him 600 but he had his mind se on running the auction to the end and wasnt sure on how to withdraw either.
He and his brother were a real decnt pair of blokes to be honest, they have a few other classics like 50's a30's MGBGT that he'/s doing up also (at the age of 63 haha)
Id love to come over for a chat and a brew sometime minimon but things are all over the place at the minute as with this and two projects + trying to find work.
Could you point me in the right direction for pictures of the inner/outer of the rear body minimon ? or possibly take some of your mk2 boot rear ? (i know thats cheeky so sorry) best picture on the internet i could find was someone spaceframing a metro with a subaru front but most of it was naturaly cut out
Cheers minimon, theres more locals than i thought haha

The metros shell didnt change much from the first mk1s to the last production run with k series engines, as far as im aware, from the bulkhead backwards, all metros share the same shell, its the bulkhead forward that differs (wider inner wings to accomadate the k series engine)

When i get a bell back of this guy who's cutting up a shell of which im having the rear i'l ask him about complete shell or rears for trailer project for you lew
Nice to know theres not much difference atall, although visualy they look different rear lights boot design ect.. but it could just be clever design
Getting the rear of a metro means i'l have all i need to repair it at minimal cost as parts like the inner rear wing area thats buckled on mine arnt available or spoken of anywere

Cheers ben, so do i, its killing me not fixing it now but need the estimater to see it first
Cheers mate. You can fit the earlier tailgate and lights on a later rover metro to retro-fy them lol ive been looking into converting a later vvc'd metro to mk1 spec/look for more power, and keep it very much sleeper looking
The rear end of a shell im supposed to be buy hasnt been chopped in half yet and he's offered me £150 for me to go and collect it with full shell minus roof with engine still in (i presume theres a subframe there still ? haha), i asked him what engine's in it and explained what a a-series looks like and it seems that its a k-series motor in it thats not been touched, how much are these worth and do you know anyone who would want to buy it ? possibly the whole front and subby aswell ?
Cheers

Thankyou for the photo's ben aka minimon, some of those are very helpful thankyou .
As fo your metro mod's........i,ve liked the idea of a central exit exhaust so the spare wheel well mod is a good idea in that sense but need to find somewere else to put the spare wheel first before i get welding it up .
Are you running coilovers ? if so whats involved in doing that ?
Were do i buy a rear anti-rollbar from for the metro or can others be used off other makes of cars ?
Sorry for the questions but the last one mainly has been bugging me for sometime now haha
Cheers

to lower a metro properly involves machining down the trumpets of course a lot of people simply let the fluid out then it flops around like a boat and ruins the ride as for rear ARB's MG metros have them I believe and GTI's

Ahh yeah i can understand that completely, i think if i was to lower it id convert to coilovers first
I'l keep a look out for those then so i can nick one haha
Cheers for that luke
