Ahh thats a point lew, might give it a go at minisport RR once im up and runing, its about 60 quid isnt it ?.

 

Right today i,ve inspected the front panel and behing the bumper in genral, i,ve found little rust as you might expect from looking at the rest of the car and considering the weather tends not to get behind the front bumper like it can the read due to it being like a weather scoop on the back haha.

 

Front bumper and endplates off:

 

Inside the under light cavity (Nearside) :

 

Inside the under light cavity (Offside):

 

Crack in the front valence which is caused by the painted sealer they have put on (not fibre glass as i thought it to be):

 

Looks like this is weld but could just be underseal dripping at the lowest point:

 

Heres why the radiator had to come partialy out (because the bumper bolt is tucked in there):

 

As for rust on the inside of the bumper......theres bugger all rust!! Wahoo one less job haha:

what a absolute special! gutted mate would of been livid if it was mine right to cover costs defiantly so rough prices new boot lid will cost 50 quid plus painting black is the hardest colour to paint your looking at 150, bumper 30 and the rear floor is bent so your looking at between 250 and 350 quid bill just for the body shop!

Thankyou for the estimate luke, just about to phone a company for panel prices as she's decided to go through insurance now and we,ve an estimater coming round sometime to assess the damage for repairs.

 

Have a tailgate already that i got with the car and i'l paint the whole car with new coachlines myself later on down the line when the rusts sorted, just worried they'll scrap it though, granted i would profit £290 if they did pay me out but as i found out yesterday the car means more to me than petty cash.

 

I,ve been on an emotional roller coaster of this already and lost my temper abit a few times (not at the women directly) but its more than a daily drive car like a vw ect...

 

Anyway, anymore links to panels are appreciated as im not sure on were to source panels for a metro ?

The boot floor isnt damaged but the rear slam panel ? is bent in along with the rear crossmember ? and obviously bumper.

Also theres a buckle in the inner rear wing frame behind the quarter card which im really not happy about.

When the guy comes round i'l explain that i have a few parts ect.. and not to fussed on the paint so hopefully he will be sympathetic

 

Sorry also for not replying to your text grace but im not too much in the mood at the minute and just a depressing person until i can secure my car

don't worry cliff my mate smashed into the side of a Anglia in his mini crumpled the front wings badly took it to a local shop and they managed to jig it out so you cant even tell they were hit and save them they do wonders now with modern technology im sure it will be fine! end of the day take the time now to get the car repainted and get it sorted unfortunate its sooner than planned but its all you can do hopefully your back and neck are ok being rear ended can cause a lot of injury's! lucky yours is a vp with head rests!

Done quite a few miless on the back today in and out of bolton and then into horwich and now im just getting ready for a interview so not much TMF time or mini time as usual but i managed to phone a guy i know up and i can get a metro shell rear end (seat crossmember to the rear) for £130 delivered

Seems a good deal but i belive its a different model yet he says its the same "the only difference between these models was the screen the grille" (he said something along those lines) any metro brains are welcomed to help, membership still hasnt been activated for MOC forum nor have i gotten an e-mail yet so TMF metro guys are all i have for help so thanks
