I have a habit of influencing people with things i own/build/modify, bit like my clubvan that i built, after that they started popping up everywhere lol why not get the standard steels banded? Would set it off nicely! And would keep it looking standard but subtly modified? ;) other than that keep everything else standard, you dont want to go over the top or modify it much as it looks spot on as it is!

As for the forum, keep trying, i had a few probs signing up but persistance and contacting a moderator helped! :)

Just for the record. The Metro with its different, more compliant engine mountings are prone to shake, induced by the input from the road wheels. That is why the spigot location is on the hub. It is there to ensure concentricity of the wheel to the hub.
I would keep the standard wheels with the spigots personally.

If the front panel is anything to go by, and the tailgate glass being absent, im fairly confident that it'll be rotten as a pear, only a good source of parts

Thanks lew, i,ve managed to sign up now  , just awaiting a reply from moderators.

I like the thought of widening the wheelbase to a tad to fill the arches more so but i wont be banding these original wheels to achieve that as i'l do that either by spacers/longer studs or banding some other wheels.

Not sure i like the rat look that vdp has going there lew :teehee: , shame though really, is it still there ?

Right so got a little more inspection done today on the rear section as chosen as my next point to see what needs doing in the coming month or so..

Heres what i,ve found....

Bumper and endplates off:

Not looking to bad but still scabby in areas and around seams...

Bumper endplate brass insert has come un-captive so i'l have to sort that out also:

Rear quarter boot cards i think are a tad rough so might see about making new:

Found some waxy stuff on the inner side of the rear quarter:

Gave it abit of a clean up whilst i was there:

Next thing to inspect is the front bumper and front valence..

Ahh wow thats not good haha, i think i,ve been quite lucky finding this metro in such a good state to be honest

Might nip out and whipp the front bumper off in a mo, just been out in it again and the choke is needed a tad longer than the mini as it is down on power unless i pull it out 2/3rd's way in 3rd and 4th ?

Could just need a good rolling road session to iron out any flat spots! Does look in decent shape!
