You're putting me to shame! The speed you're progressing compared to my complete lack of effort with mine is just embarrassing haha
Yes but I don't have a life Rob, I have no friends and really just spend all of my free time in the Garage!

, try doing a little job every other weekend, and don't over think about your Metro throughout the week, try and figure out a job you can fit into a weekend and then forget about the Metro all together till Friday arrives :).

Just a quick little pre-weekend update guys and girls...
Tonight I've set the height up to a good ride height for practical use and driven it out of the garage, got my sister to take some pictures and I've edited the top background in one for privacy reasons, other that that what you see is what it looks like tonight!! .
Was so chuffed riding out on the new suspension, felt very different!!
Roll on weekend!,

I knew the photos were corrupt some how when I uploaded them to my computer Nathan, never mind.
Sundays progress was quite pleasant, managed to get the subframe off, stripped of radius arms and suspension. Also do a bit of inspection on the rear subframe mounting points after taking the exhaust rear section off revealed some work needed behind the driver side one, which I think is down to the fuel leaking and stripping away it's protection.
There are a few questionable areas on the ends of the subframe but I will clean it up further before making judgements as to whether it's worth saving.
Till next weekend..

Next weekend has arrived!!
Managed to remove the fuel tank today, strip the rear end exterior and interior and remove half of the underseal from the wheel arch (just the one).
It's caked on about 5mm think so I've stripped the interior and have decided in going to burn it off tomorrow, also going to borrow my old mans fire extinguisher I bought for his car, just in case I get a bit frisky with the flame maker :)
Something I wasn't expecting to see when I removed was a spark plug blanking off one of the tank vents, and a bolt blocking the other!!!
As you can sort of see in the last picture, I've removed the routing of the sunroof drain tubes into the sill!!! what were they thinking when they thought up that design I don't know!! Must have been sniffing some really strong glue at a guess .
Till tomorrow,
Cliff

Yet more underseal stripping incurred , nothing progressive enough to warrant a picture because it still looks the same as the other photo with just a bit of the upper arch cleared up.
I have however stripped the radius arms bare and started to clean them up for primer and paint, the shoes and wheel cylinders seem to be brand new, must have been changed quite recent to me buying Cuey 2 years ago (god is it really that long ago!! ).

Stop putting my car to shame.
At least yours is still in one usable piece! like everything I own it gets stripped into a million pieces for inspection

Ok so the radius arms are stripped of the bearing and plastic inserts and I've had them soaking a while in petrol in the parts washer.
upon removing them for the wipe down and inspection some horrid melted grease came out of one, really have no idea why its all red and runny ? but the other one was filled with normal coloured grease confusing.
Viewers discretion is advised!!!
This is what £5 worth of petrol looks like, I thought id have a lot with that much but turns out id need about £15 worth of the stuff

Hello again folks, just a quick late night update from me here.
Today I managed a little work on the radius arms, I wasn't happy about priming and painting over the rust pitted surface of the cast steel, so I decided to smooth the surface out and at the same time remove the casting numbers and edges here and there.
I've intentionally left the Leyland stamping as I think it looks quite good for a casting mark :)
Also attached is a picture of a new vs old knotted wire wheel, I think it's safe to say I was ready for getting a new one!
That is all for today, tomorrow I hope to get the radius arms cleaned up fully and in primer at least, I haven't yet bought paint because I can't find the right colour in the right form of paint!
