Id suggest you get one (or two) now as there quite cheap for what you're getting at the moment, the only thing is finding certain parts, coming from a mini to the metro has made me see how grateful i should be for having in escence a disposable car with the metro its not so renewable haha

I cant find any for cheap though Cheap to me for a metro is about 500/600 quid
But then again I want to find one quite local so that if its a dog I don't have to travel for hours and hours!!
Have you still got the mini or just this now?

I was quite lucky really as i got this for £510 and it was just over a mile away haha
I still have the mk2 yes and the checkmate but thinking of selling the mk2's shell for abit of room (i know its a bad sounding decision)
We'l see though

Cliff, If you keep those seat covers i'm gonna come to your house in the middle of the night, jemmy the lock and take the awfull things out myself. Then i'm gonna find a really rough backstreet where I might find a tramp begging for change and instead of change im gonna give him these seat covers to keep himself warm.
That's the only use I can think for them!
Only kidding, keep em if that's your cuppa tea!

Hi again, right so due to being a family member down (mum was un-well) we didnt go up cumbria this weekend, so instead me and my old man had a ride down to pc world in the metro, the ride is quite nice to be honest but it should be even better when i get a bit a pressure in the displacers.
As for everything else.....Th exhaust has been modified by the previous owner so is touching the fuel tank (not happy about this), theres a rattle when going down the road which im 90% certain is the exhaust & i cant get used to 3rd gear being just a tad further over to the right .
Oh and almost forgot......The handbrake now works, seeing as im free i thought id get the handbrake sorted (with a little help), so i now dont need my retro handbrake anymore .
Heres a few pictures.....
Old pressed plate put on:
New fuel tank neck area:
Jacked it up, hipped a axle stand under and got to it:
I remember being told "Safety first!" as a child so thought id better protect the car :
Old handbrake cable:
Thats todays job done...If im not off on my travels tomorrow i'l be possibly (wheather permitting) working on Project checkmate but if not then i'l take the rear bumper off this and see whats what onthe backside so i can get what i need to do the job properly.
I'l definatly be having a ganders at the lucas (Cheers Dude )
Next jobs to do:
-See to the rust rear the jacking points
-Do the points in the dizzy (hitting and missing under load)
-Source some rear seatbelts and anchor points
-Have a look at the fuel gauge and see whats up (new sender/tank issues maybe)
-Clean up the engine bay
-Valet the interior (mainly the carpet)
-Re-paint the wheels silver and there looking rough close up and rusting in places
-Source a couple of hub cap clips im missing
-Get the thing pumped up so im not running so low (might see about making my own pump)
-Get a slight bronze film to tint the windows just a tad more
-Save up/pass my test (does tend to help when owning a car haha)
& finaly.....Make some room for it so its more secure (garage space maybe ?)
No real order in that but the points need cleaning and adjusting soon to be honest
