She's known as Val :P the reg was valued at £600, the previous owner with the idea of a track that never got finished I'm sure whether to continue with it or go back to standard

Aww sweet :P haa, mines know as Cuey (as you may have seen haha), maybe we can all meet up some day for a B-road drive ? :)

Nah, with the GTA it's a full tidy up and 2 cibies. That's it. Too good to molest.

Nice work. Impressive finish on the bracket! Thought it was powdercoat at first

Ahh glad to hear it, do metro's look good with spots ? i've seen a few but not convinced myself, also do you mount off the bumper ?

Thanks nath, i actualy used chassis black painted on thick with a brush, theres a top secret old skool trick to getting a good finish, i sorta did it here but you could get a top notch outer body finish if you wanted :)

Hopefully tomorrow i'l get all the brackets re-furbed and welded on and maybe even get the whole lot finished off.

well heres mine

Lovely metro Lucas, two questions for you though... Whats the material of the splitter and were did you get it from ? and are those mk1 light easy to find these days and would you think its a good idea to use them on mine or are they dim or anything ?

i wouldn't bother coveting to sunk in type massive ball ache ive had to replace both headlight due to stones breaking them last winter and they are dim they were fitted to the lower spec metros of course everthing on a metro is an option the L's all have the sunk in lights. the lights were fairly dim so i got two wipac 5.5 inch spots wired to the main beam switch. As for the splitter its a RGA front splitter there plastic they made loads of them so they come up for sale every now and again do love my 80s optional extras head light protectors and of course of louvre

Was the louvre an optional extra?  They always remind me of Mafia Sentinals from Grand Theft Auto 3

All brackets primed and painted, ready for a spot of good weather and i'l be able to get them all tacked into place and seam welded on fully after a dry mock up.

Happy enough with the results:

Also taken the more than useless gas struts off, something else to the list!

Ahh thats quite an expensive list!, id start at the Austin 7 as they're the most expensive i think, then everything else after that will be a breeze!!! :D

Thankyou and to be honest you can still pick a metro up for a few £100 :)

Yeah £8k for a tatty runner but cheap insurance as engine is only 750cc

more likely to afford both the car and insurance on a GTi or a metro
