Heres the wood

8523267839_5889df6c5d_z.jpg

Also some headlamp protectors which I've been after for years

XBV100510.jpg

and some LHD black Rover 100 series mats which are super lovely, need to buy these on Monday! They will protect my original red MG Metro carpet :-)

EAH102010PMA.jpg

After all of this is done and she's on the road I can start to focus on the heated seats, making a loom for my electric windows (rears will stay wind up I think) and seeing what I can salvage from an MGF at a breakers to add some electric mirrors to Rita.

I still need to fit a Laguna splitter as before, paint the door handles, paint the bumper inserts and then finally get the roof and rear quarter painted :-)

Looking great buddy, loving all the NLA Rover parts and accessories that you've managed to find, some pretty rare bits youve got!

Be great to see her back on the road eventually! I've only just got mine back on, well a couple of months ago now, already done over 6000 miles in him though! :P

Read that you work at Buckmore, how long have you been there? I did part of my college course there last year!

Thanks man! to me it's all about the Rover NLA plastic accessories, can't get enough of it. I just want big car luxury in my tiny little Metro :P The parts aren't cheap but they're worth it :-)

Do you drive a Metro? :D

And I've been there for about a month now, what did you think of it? It's a decent track to drive!

Definitely, all the little trim pieces, plus i love the wood, in a 'would never of had it back then but now it looks so right' kinda way!

Nope, no Metro, have worked on several though. Met you at Brooklands last year i think, or maybe it was the year before.... :P

Sweet, enjoying it? I did some marshaling as well as a scrutineers course there, good bunch of guys, know what you mean by long days though, especially when its cold and wet! Great track to drive though, one of my favourite kart circuits ever i think, also probably my most local!

Haha so true mate. In the future plastic Rover wood will be worth a fortune!

and oh yeah! I remember that now, you were with MMC right?

and Haha marshalling can be so boring, sometimes I spend 6 hours on post! It's okay on the race meetings but the sound of 4 stroke bogging down for 6 hours gets tedious eventually!

It's certainly nowhere I see a career at, but I've always loved Motorsports and so working at a Kart circuit is a great experience. I'd love a career at a track like Brands but I just don't think Buckmore has the capacity for more than a minimum wage marshals job at the moment at least!

It's good fun though, a lot of the time it's not really like a job, just so relaxed and chilled. Whilst you're working, you're doing the same as you'd do on break at another job, stand around! :P

Looking good Craig, nice to her back in the limelight ;-)

I'm also liking your Gen Rover parts, you can't beat a bit of genuine. Got the Rover branded spotlight covers on the Cooper Sport, don't think they're as nickable as the Cooper ones :-)

Thanks Paul, hopefully soon she will be worthy of the limelight again! :P

And thanks! Haha. I'm not sure anybody would bother mate ;-)

Old picture but I still just can't get it out of my head, I think I just need to do it.

including a tastier steering wheel :P

Looking good dude! Regarding the steering wheel, could you use an MPi Mini one or even the MGTF ones? They should fit onto that boss I would've thought plus you get the horns built into the steering wheel. Also, just my opinion, it would look pretty nice with the MPi/MGTF one on. Some MG's even had the Tiptronic steering wheel controls so I've been told?? Saw a thread in which some bloke retrofitted them on his MPi Mini to control his stereo using the Tiptronic controls on the steering wheel :P

Yeah you got it mate, any MG Rover steering wheels fit, I used to have a red MGF one and it did look nice but was i bit worn. I like the MPi mini ones like Simon has especially with the Mini Cooper airbag but in red, or a Rover BRM with stereo controls :)

Although, we'll be going scrapyard hunting this weekend so who knows what I might come across, if I can get any nice MG one for £15 then I'll be happy :P

We shall see!

Craig I wonder if you can tell me how the front bumper is held on at the very corners

Mine came hanging off at both corners...what is supposed to go on the plastic stud? I cant see anything behind the wing it goes into or anything like that

Ive got a rear panel coming for mine and hopefully then I can take a grinder to  the rear end...will be on the road in 3 weeks as the mini runs out of MOT insurance and tax
I will sort the rest out as and when

Do it Craig.

Don't shoot me but, I always fancied a Nissan Figaro with Supalights :-\
