Haha I need shocks and anti roll bars before I put any power into it. Lift off oversteer at speed isn't fun and I get it a lot with the bouncy hydragas when pressing on over bumps around corners

So Rita's new friend is all stripped out and the interior is ready to go into Rita tomorrow. I removed the body loom but upon doing this discovered that there was wires to the coil and fan on the SPI body loom, I wanted to do some research before fitting it into Rita to make sure everything was okay, but it's all good and it'll be leather time tomorrow
I took it for a spin and it feels a fair bit quicker than the 1.1 currently in Rita so I'm excited to get the engine put in eventually.
I had a bit of an Ebay impulse, something I've been after for a while though. When I spotted this boot liner I expected it to go for quite a lot, it was an option at new and I've heard rumours it was an £85 option. I watched it and in the last 10 minutes had a few bids, I had a price in my head but ended up winning it for £22 which I was really pleased with.
It's a Rover 100 boot liner tailored the fit. I don't really need it, but it's another nice thing to have I'm driving up to meet somebody with the GTI interior at Northampton services on Sunday, and then onwards to Peterborough to collect it, and then on to see my dear old nan in the evening, she's having another big operation to have two brain tumours removed so it will be lovely to see her again.
Heres a friends one which I think looks cool and tidies things up nicely. I always carry tools and a trolley jack etc so it will help me to keep things from moving about and protect my fire exstinguisher from getting knocked aside from being securely held in

All leathered up I changed the entire loom to include the electric windows and rear speakers rather than splicing into the loom. My fuel tank is leaking and the connectors underneath are rusty so I'm going to be replacing that soon too. Rather than having the connectors for the fuel pump and sender under the car near the exhaust which is standard on Metros, I'll use the wiring from my old loom to run the correct coloured wires into the car and under the rear bench.
I had a problem with the new loom from two wires on the immobliser which were damaged. It took me a few hours to find the problem and why fuse 21 kept blowing but once repaired all was well and she's all good to go again

Looks very smart Craig!
How long did it take to strip it all out like that and replace the loom?
Looks like a big job..

Thanks mate. It took two days to do everything, many hours were spent fiddling with the electric windows etc. Very time consuming but a job worth doing
