Hi All

Just bought Mini Cooper for wife from a friend, blieve its 51/52 plate (currently on private plate).

It only came with the 2nd key fob (without any buttons on it).  At first central locking was working, but battery went flat and now central locking doesnt work.

Am I right in thinking that I need to buy a proper programmed remote locking key with the remote etc built in ? If so , does anybody have an idea of cost before I take her to the dreaded bmw stealership ?

Any help much appreciated !

Thanks, GazDonno.

Hi

This is predominantly a forum for the classic mini. whilst some members here do own a BMW mini and therefore may be able to help you with your problem, you might get more responses and information on a dedicated BMW mini forum such as: http://www.mini2.com/

Good Luck

You will need to buy a key that has the remote in it. You will then need to take it to a BMW dealer to get it programmed to your car. They will charge a bomb, especially as it is BMW.

Good luck

Thanks for replies everyone, even though I probably joined the wrong forum ( classic mini v bmw mini).

Cheers again

Gary
