You're all going to hate me now though. This garage isn't staying. It's got a slight leak, but it's mostly to make way for something slightly larger....
This sadly means I can't start stripping yet, as she needs to remain mobile.
But it has opened up quite a bit of space for me to start on my longer term project. Hopefully another few days of clearing and then a new project thread!

So I just spent yesterday and today reading through this whole thread and WOW!! What a rollercoaster of events you've dealt with. I'm glad to see the project lives on and is getting a well deserved revival. Any updates on the new garage??
Having a Mini as a daily driver is one of the best things in the world. It can be troublesome sometimes (a lot of the time) but its so worth it. Right now Im getting ready to sell the Mini I currently have and then buy an old Clubman GT. I drive an Innocenti 1300 but I cant bring myself to molest/modify a "more rare" Mini. Once I get the GT, the real fun shall begin .
Love the Mini and cant wait for updates!

Good luck on your GT search. I don't think you'll be dissapointed coming from your innocenti. I'm lucky were my comparison is a mk3 Cooper S, they are very different though.
Sadly no updates on my GT. The garage is still in the planning phase. So Ive been keeping myself busy with another project! Terrible I know.
So it'll have to carry on enjoying it's extended hibernation. I did drag it out into the sunlight yesterday though, quick charge of the battery and it fired right up!
It's on its storage wheels 😀
And sat with its pristine counterpart!

Well 4 years after I last updated this thread.
It'd be rude not to use it a little wouldn't it...

The tease was unfair I admit.
5 years has been far to long to be out of the mini scene, but I have been amusing myself with other projects. Mainly another piece of British Leyland's finest.
But enough of that, back to the GT!
I'll be honest this is far from the restoration that I promised, more of a ground hog day style revival, but I can now class it as a two times barn find!
It's had a very easy storage, being inside and warm for most of the last 5 years. The dust is seriously thick though! Doesn't half look neglected.
But nothing a good wash and change of wheels couldn't sort.
After the wash I had to also try out a new toy I purchased a few months ago, reaffirming the old adage that you can indeed polish a turd. It even came out quite shiny
I think a full brake rebuild with the master cylinder replacement I always promised it. Might even paint the engine bay while I'm there.
I'm really looking forward to driving it again though, but that just might be the nostalgia...

Amazing, washing the bonnet changed it from blue back to green! ;) Glad to see this one out and about again. Very nice.
