After months of attempted fixes I can finally say I've cured my cars horrible grinding noise!
It was the drivers side wheel bearing. Which as it turns out was disgusting!
Badly pitted with bits floating!
It's now noise free and lovely!
I also got a lovely present!
No more regressing valves for me!
Now it'd be a shame to put standard rockers on it now wouldn't it....
& finally on my way last night I hit a massive milestone!
Well 99,999.9 miles to be precise!

I have been a little worried recently though. I've had a really nasty noise develop over the last few days when it was warm at idle which I thought was the beginnings of a bottom end knock.
So I went digging and found it was my front subframe mounting moving around! All tightened up and it now is back to being lovely.
Although I'd be lying if I said I couldn't hear a rear wheel bearing.
While I was doing this I did get a guy come up who was very interested in the GT. He offered me a very respectable offer, more than its worth! which caught me off guard! I don't think I could ever sell it though but we did exchange numbers if I change my mind...
I was looking at it today and I think the stickers are going to have to come off though. I've had my fun!

While I was back I also pulled apart my blowing exhaust and resealed it. My rear gearbox mount had shed a bolt causing it to shake loose. Sounds lovely again now. I also attended to a dodgy rear wheel bearing. Which I could only hear after I sorted the incredibly loud front, which did annoy me. Someone had fitted ball bearings! Just couldnt handle the performance of a GT! It now rolls silently. :)
Doesn't half make me smile on my morning commute. :)
Oh and to the horror of keefr22 I remembered I have to keep the stickers until I get my windscreen topper!

I saw this the other week bombing down the a11 just off the a47 roundabout in the pouring rain looks good in the fast lane
I like to think it's used properly! Haha
It rarely goes slowly, I do enjoy the look of surprise on people's faces when they see it bombing past. It's used everyday despite the weather! Apart from the impending rusty doom it doesn't mind the rain at all.
I usually give it the beans coming off that roundabout under the bridge. I like the noise :)

It is rediculous the amount of c**p I put up with! Me too! Couldn't stand the idea of losing it.
So whist on my morning commute I heard an almighty noise, at first I thought I'd blown a tyre! So fearing for my wheels I pulled over immediately! I ran to the passenger side front to inspect the damage. Only to find nothing! So up came the bonnet revealing...
A breather pipe had come loose and got caught between the shroud and the fan, I think you can see which item lost.
So I nursed it to work and swapped it for a new one on my lunch break!
I'm not a fan of the non genuine stuff but it'll do for now.
I also have started to notice a hesitance below 2k rpm again. So off came the rocker cover and lo and behold the exhaust valve on no. 2 cylinder had wound on again! So I've defintely got a regressing valve seat! Looks like I will need my new head!

Amusing pun.
Pity about the damage though. Glad you got it sorted.
