May I join you club for the love of GKN's ❤️

This is one of my GKN's 12".
I had them powder coated white years ago and clad in Falken rubber.

Of course you can, it's a pretty exclusive club. You  probably don't remember but I sent you a cheeky message ages ago asking if you didn't want them, I'd happily buy them off you.

Don't worry 2 sets is enough for me at the moment!  I prefer them without, so never really looked.

I did just find a picture of my uncles GT and that did have centre caps!

Why they're so arse high I don't know!

So back to mine.

After fitting a new steering rack and 4 new tyres I thought it was careless to not have my tracking checked. So I booked in to a local garage who I'd been recommended with laser alignment.

Turns out my 'by the eye' method was awful. 5 degrees Toe in one side and 6 degrees toe in the other! No wonder it was a little twitchy.

So all straight now she handles beautifully.

I could only resist so long....

So a few nights ago I stumbled upon a veritable treasure trove of Mini challenge pictures.

Being late I decided since I had the hardest part to source I may as well create a bit of a Challenge replica and  I went crazy on the internet.

This is the first of a lot I've ordered...

It's been quite a while since I've updated this, and it's mostly because the GT's been behaving herself.

Of course daily use always highlights any faults, some the car and some are vandalising f**kers who think it's funny to let all my tyres down.

Anyway, the car, so the throttle cable started to become "sticky" the clutch still allows the gears to crunch in first and reverse despite all the work I've done, and the rear brakes needed winding on after they've bedded in properly.

So the throttle was easy, the butterfly shaft just needed lubricating (removal of carb) the throttle return spring (HIF) needed cleaning and the throttle cable needed oiling, it's much smoother now and returns as it should.

The Clutch I rebled, but the problem still remained. My dad then pointed out the pedal wasn't returning properly. After contorting myself under the dash you could see the spring wasn't returning the pedal properly, meaning you didn't get the full travel of the pedal.

So the pin had to come out.

No wonder it didn't travel smoothly!

As smooth as a babies bottom!

I also finally got around to installing my window stickers, giving my car sporting credentials.

All are model related and the car did have GKN's from new which where only available through special tuning....

Thankyou :) The wheels are 5" wide, and I'm running 165 section tyres.

I really like the way the window vinyls have turned out, opinions are welcome!

Now for the outside stickers....

Also 10 points to the person who correctly identifies the S badge. (clue, it's still within the Austin family)
