You'd have to be some serious nerd to be interested in a collection of several hundred Minis where very often the only difference will be the colour scheme and interior trim plus a few decals.
IF(and it's a big if) you managed to acquire the car your best option would be to offer it on loan, free of charge, to anywhere that would be prepared to display it. I can't think of any that would be keen on giving their valuable floor area to what amounts to a lump of scrap metal, with little to make it worthy of more than a cursory glance beyond its back story. Maybe a theme park wanting a novelty item for their ghost train ride?

Your not investing persay in the Mini but the idea behind it. As we all know the car how no actual in real terms by that i mean metal etc.
You're patient and persistent, I'll give you that.
It could be said that the works coopers fall into that subset too. I mean, it's all light iron when you get down to the bones of it.
Works coopers are different though, lots of people will chew your arm off to get to them, but I need a couple of rear wheel bearing now and for me at least, I want them more than I would want total ownership of your shell.
Good luck with finding people who are similarly interested in a bit of junk - If I had known that you were a collector, then my vast past collection of classic cars in various stages of decomposition and ring rot would not have gone to a better place on the back of a scrappy's 7 tonner......

I agree.......how many people go to a Mini show and then closely examine several hundred Mini's.........even as a life long Mini enthusiast at a show like the recent London to Brighton which had 2000+ Mini's lined up I struggled to maintain interest in even a fraction of that number when faced with so many often great cars........and for the spectators it was all 'free to view' at Crystal Palace or Madeira Drive!
