As said I doubt there are too many willing to burn anything like 10k on this 'car' unless they get caught up in 'auction fever' bidding and then will probably live to regret it afterwards......

Hi All,

Wow....... So we've go from a simple idea to a discussion (well some may call it that) about the demise of the british car industry......... Its a shame I do not have enough time to engage in that converstation.

Back to my orignal ask...... I feel it would be right to try and purchase this car, thats it really! I have an idea that I am woking towards and thought this car would be a great addition to that. There are servel arguments, pro's and con's  and opinions. I just though for a small sum everyone could be doing there bit.

If everyone who has viewed this post donated a £1 we'd have a great staring point... what is a £1 really! They could all come and view the car in situ in 6 to 12 months amougst some other great Mini's for free (due to their donation) knowing they helped create this. Or alternative stop being negative and actually listen to what im saying and offering in return for a stake in this car...... If we went do the synidcate route.

There are hundards or investors out there and I have funding if I want it but after a conversations with the current owner I felt it would be better to either buy it myself or offer my idea to the mini community to see if they would be interested. This could be the first step to something really quite special in all of our mini lifes.

I have a business plan for the attraction centre and have the funding in place. I just need the entire collection now, which we all know is going to take me some time but you have to start somewhere.

Thanks again

Samuel

I don't think any of us are being negative, just realistic and practical. You say ''... and actually listen to what I'm saying etc...'', but you've not actually told us anything really apart from having a seemingly mysterious plan up your sleeve which you'd like everyone else to chip in for...! I'm still none plussed as to exactly what it is you want to do with the car, and how anyone chipping in will get some sort of return - I'm not being negative, I'm just trying to get an answer out of you which reveals exactly what you intend doing with the car / everyone else's money, whether it's a pound or not is niether here nor there really. You say that anyone chipping in will get to see the car for free - why not just buy it yourself to add to your collection and let folk see it for nothing anyway...

Dismissing people's comments as negative isn't going to get you very far I'm afraid, whether it's intentional or not ;D

Jesus christ.......

I have set out my plan in previously in my other messages. I have not gone into complete details as I want to see what level of interest I could gain from asking the basic question, to see if there was any potentail in it.

The reason I came here to ask the question was that I thought it best placed. It hasnt had a great response as this car seems to have hit a nerve with a lot of people and some people on here seem to only want to engage in debates/arguements with one another. The other reason for my lack of complete detail at this point is that I wasnt sure which way would work best for funding this car, i.e how to invite people to purchase the car as a group, so on donation bases, as an investment (for which they would get a potentail stake in my company) or a few other options.

I have not dismissed any bobys comments in any way shape or form in fact the total opposite, I have embraced them and responsed to all comments. I appreciate people taking them time to share there opinion weather I agree or not. I did not post this to get into debates/arguements with anyone.

I would intend to show the car at a Mini attraction centre I am planning (location confirmed) as a PR generating machine to be part of the collection, this would currently consist of my own collectin and this one. It would be ope to the general public for a nominal charge. This is then where the ROI would appear.

Thanks again.

''Jesus Christ''.... there's really no need for that, I was simply asking for more clarity and am certainly not argueing with you. I think if you'd given a fully detailed account of your plans in your initial post you might have received a better response overall. I wish you well with the idea, but your earlier posts came across as just asking for money without giving out the full SP so to speak.

Toodle ooh.

Will you refund my money if I donate and you don't win the auction?

good morning everyone I wasn't going to comment on this post and was going to stay out the argument that I knew was going to start ....after sam initially posted the thread I got intouch on the phone for more information on his idea...it was easy I asked for his number and he sent it...after a 30 minute conversation about the funds  he is hoping to raise with private backers he was offering people on the forum the chance to have the opportunity to have a stake in the mini and it was only going to cost £1 ....if you took the time to listen and see what a great idea he has you may not be so pessimistic ..its a great idea which is very much going to happen ..a museum for minis how great is that...good luck sam with the museum and good luck at the auction ..no reserve you may just steal it

all the best steve
