Hey people.

Thinking about one day installing 2 x spotlights on my grill.

However, the badges on the grill can't be moved as holes have been drilled through the fins and then the badges have been screwed on. I know I could buy a new grill but do people think there is enough space between the badges to fit two spotlights? Also, what do people think about having them on my grill with badges?

My old Mini had two spotlights close together when I bought it and it didn't look brilliant. I think your Mini looks good as it is.

Personally I would put them on as your car looks really nice like that and they are normally located roughly where the badges are I'd measure the gap between them I have wipacs 5,5 inch diameter each also you can't mount them on the grill it isnt stable enough you need to getsoespot light rackets from mini spares or similar hope this helps

Ah yh i see what you mean. Just wanted to see what it looked like really. Thanks :)

Thanks :) I meant in front of grill. Thanks for those dimensions. I was thinking about getting Wipacs if I was to get spotlights :)

How about, if I was to do this, buy new grill and install spotlights where badges are and maybe put 1 of the badges in the middle of them? Which badge tho.. hmm

Or would this look too cluttered??

I think as it is because i very rarely see minis with badges like that on the grilled and quite a few have spot lights I think it would look good I you had a submerged spot light grille like this http://www.minispare...px|Back to shop with badgesinthemiddle ish?

Oh ok. Thanks for your opinion :)  Have been thinking about that spotlight in grill option by mini spares. Saw this mini at a show:

hmm may be too much if a badge is put in as well...

I think it might just not bother with spotlights as I quite like my mini as it is at the moment :) It'l be a shame to take the badges off.

Thanks for your advice and opinions :)

Cheers

Carl

I think its either spots or the badges, as much as I love spots the badges you have make it look older and more authentic, but as always its your car and your personnel choice.

Thanks :)
that's the dilemma spots or badges.. Hmm
I don't really like the look of having two spotlights in centre between badges and also two spotlights with badge/s in middle as it'll look overcrowded.

my original idea was to have two spotlights each where the badges are. Then a switch per spotlight inside the car with both the switches next to each other. Then wire them to high beam so I can easily flick both of them off if car is coming towards me. Also to follow the law lol

But now I do really like the look of the badges on the grill as I agree it makes it look more authentic. I dont see many minis where they have badges instead of spots so i like being different lol
I think, for the time being I'm going to keep grill and badges as it is :)

To give you an idea, mine's basically a Tahiti MPi but without the Sportspack.

Nice looking mini :) I quite like the look of those spots on grill. They look quite smart :) keep flicking between deciding on spots and deciding on badges lol
what spotlights are those on yours?

No idea, they came stock on MPis. I think they're Wipac ones but really not sure. Also, the bonus of spotlights is theres obviously more light on full beam, and it looks cool when flashing people :P

How do you mean? Lol won't that look a bit odd?

What i've been thinking is having spotlights where the badges are and then have one of the badges in the middle. What badge do people think is best to have between the spots? RAC or AA? :)

I put my wipacs on at the weekend had to move my AA badge though, but it now sits in the middle (pic underneath to help you decide if you like it or not :) )
