Looks great, am I right in thinking that the South African Elf/Hornet bodies had the standard Mini front?

we never had the elf or the hornet.
when they are available overseas we had what was called a WOLSELEY 1000 which is a mini with a WOLSELEY nose (no boot)....
when the ELF/HORNET was discontinued overseas, the shipped the dies here and for 3 years made the AUSTIN MINI MK3 which is a ELF/HORNET with a regular mkII nose (but retains the awesome bumpers and some of the chrome work).
it is a south african only model

i am in the process of building a 1275 to replace the worn 998 but i have a separate subframe to build that on...
going to make the engine bay look as much like a cooper s engine bay as possible - already got that horrible green paint!
she is in need of at least an exterior respray, which i may do in sections but in 3 or 4 years going to need a complete stripdown respray
but she is lovely

first weekend i had it....
the problem...
about 2 months later an extremely annoying exhaust leak let to this...
which required this...
leading to...
but that never really worked out... so now.....
really really HATE the colours the engine is painted
but engine is running really nice! little underpowered some of the time (hates hills) lol
