He should be banned for making personal remarks to people when he doesn't know their background? He's been accused of theft (I don't think he'd have got out with it if he didn't have permission), accused of making profit from his car (God forbid), attacked for deciding to sell it after saying he would restore it (go to ebay, search mini project) and many more things. If I was him I'd be pretty annoyed too. He's even offering to show it off to people, free of charge.
Whatever you're opinion of it being right or wrong to remove it from the tunnel is irrelevant. It would be nothing less than scrap if he hadn't took the time and put the money in to remove it. If it was me, I'd be happy to gain as much money from it as possible. If you suddenly found out your Mini had a famous past and increased ten times in value overnight, would you sell it for it's previous value? If he can make thousands from it, then fair play to him, its money in the bank which I'm sure would be great news for his family or whatever he chooses to do with it - all the haters on here don't seem to think of his background, that he's just in it for 'mindless profit'. And what a shame he hasn't gave it away to a museum - if they wanted it, they could have made the calls to take ownership of it from the tunnels.
Steve, I hope you make a lot from the sale, that it helps you out for the future and that the proceeds donated to a good charity are used well. Hopefully it goes to a good owner, and they don't get attacked on a forum if they choose to either restore it or keep it as is. I'd be interested in the open day, would be great to see it.
