Hi Steve,

I believe Shifty meant that the charity may be able to claim tax on the donation rather than you.

Steve...

I don't see why you keep having to explain yourself to ANYBODY..

Just do what you need to do mate!

I certainly would never of had the patience you have had with all the posts..

Good luck with whatever you choose in your future..

I think it's about time Steve was banned from this forum. He already had enough haters it seems, and now is making even worse comments directly aimed at other members. If this was anyone else they would be banned and everyone would quickly know about it. About time this topic was closed or better yet deleted as its just one big argument.
As for having an open day to show off the mini, yes it's a good idea, but with the amount of hate you're causing towards yourself I would rethink the idea. I know if I was throwing personal insults around on a public forum, where you don't know the background or mindset of the users you are insulting, then I wouldn't be opening my doors for just anyone to walk in.

Its no ones business what he does with the mini or the proceeds from its sale...BUT when a post is made about some/all of the proceeds going to charity people understandably want to know the details as it will affect the bidding/hammer price

Its a touchy subject some support what hes done some are against it...but wise up people for or against all these posts are helping with the publicity of this little car

Clever!

can i just say one more thing i find it very irratating when i have to keep defending myself read the posts and you will understand my frustation
the mini was salvaged by me
the mini was transported by me
it was paid for by me
all costs and expenses have been covered by me
the auction fees are to be paid for by me
the haters and the jelous comments have been taken by me
i will make a donation at the time of the sale of my mini it will be made by me
untill the day of the auction the mini belongs to me
so if you cant understand when i get annoyed when i have someone making an absolutley stupid remark about me i will defend myself
if i am banned from this forum ...guess what the mini sale will still go ahead but let me just say with all the media interest and there has been alot i wouldnt dream about telling them about the childish and jelous remarks i have recieved on this forum

I think that squarely underlines this, I agree with the sentiment that this should probably be locked. We've all had our say, rightly or wrongly and I don't see how further conversation is going to help matters!

Good luck with the sale Steve, I hope it all goes well.

I think it's about time Steve was banned from this forum.

Why, because somebody disagrees with him doing what he wants with his car?

bugatti pulled out of a lake after 70 years, went to auction some money went to charity,

no one made a fuss!!.

http://www.dailymail...00-auction.html

the more old cars discovered and saved the better.

Bluebird was pulled out of coniston, again controversial but history saved.

Babs was dug up and restored. another motoring icon

anything with history is interesting and a good story. good luck with sale.

Well it's a good thing no one cares what you think. All Steve has been doing is defending himself from remarks / comments made against him.

If we're banning people for no reason then I vote for banning you.
