I'd love to buy this. If It was mine I think I'd restore it. I bet it goes for squillions of pounds at auction.

well its only fair that its going into auction ..no reserve so anyone could own it

Personally, i didn't really mind somebody wanting to restore it in good faith into a roadworthy vehicle.
However, i felt that it's ambiguous story, made it an extremely unique and special mini... In my eyes, it should be left as is, whether that's in the tunnel or not - It would now seem foolish to return it to Longbridge perhaps. So why not make it a museum piece? For all of us enthusiasts to experience and share it's interesting tale for years to come...
EDIT - Apologies.

thom " a money driven scandal" a bit harsh really when you probably never read my reason for getting it out ...i wont take any offence as we all have our opinion ...the mini for the last 8 months has sat in my workplace i see it everyday and love it to bits ..but its sat there gathering dust i havent been approched by any museums or any other orgainsations wanted to show the car the pride of longbridge didnt want the mini there..
i have come across so much childish snobery and jelousy since i got the mini out so really any comments just bounce straight off now ..the mini needs to be loved and left as it is or restored its selling as NO RESERVE so its not about the money and do you think i got it for nothing and transporting it around is free ...so maybe before you think this is about the money its not

It will be interesting to see how much it goes for.
Personally I would build it up to an original spec and drive it to shows. It has an interesting history and by building it up the story will continue. I am not a fan of museum pieces.
I am happy to see the guy make a profit; he put the work in to get it out. Everyone needs to get paid for their work that is how we all pay our bills.

Where is it listed Steve?

Steve, perhaps you misread my post. I stated that i wasn't targeting you as the current owner, and yes, i have read the majority of your posts made upon TMF.
My quote was actually "Isn't it obvious that, like most things nowadays, this is just becoming a money driven scandal?" When i say "becoming", i have not referred to you specifically at all - my agitation on this issue is that if this mini falls into the wrong hands, it will almost certainly fall helplessly into a chain of sales with something selfish like money at the root of it all.
Again, just because i am a younger member of this forum, doesn't entitle you to tar me with the "childish snobbery" brush? I stated that i intended no harm whatsoever, I am simply voicing the opinions of many...
Given that you are auctioning without a reserve does not mean anything, it is frankly going to make considerable money due to the nature of the mini.
