About to make my door cards, but i need some glue to go in the seams of the door cards, and around the holes so it wont move.

Im going to staple it round the edge as well, but i need a glue that wont melt the foam and be strong enough.

im using some cotton strong fabric, thanks

Hope this makes sense, i just terrible at explaining things.

Thanks :)

Carpet tape is a very good idea, or a spray on carpet glue.  Anything designed for carpet or upholstery shouldn't melt the foam but always test a bit first.

I believe that Dunlop Trim Spray (may be no longer available except on Ebay?) or 3M Spray Trim Adhesive is the appropriate stuff, although other brands may also work.

Depending on what you are sticking, Copydex may also be ok, and as it is a water/latex adhesive, it contains no solvents and should be harmless to any material, but it only sticks to porous surfaces. Applied by brush, which sometimes is more useful than a rattle can.

Hi,

I've successfully used some car interior trim adhesive in a spray can...seems to work well....think it came from Hellfrauds.

I've also used carpet spray adhesive...supplied by my mate which works well.

The only thing with the actual car trim adhesive is that its got a wider temperature usage range than carpet spray adhesive...so would be better in a car that sees a more extreme temperature ranges!

You spray a layer on the door card, let it semi-dry then pull your foam/trim round and on to the adhesive. Press down firmly and leave to dry fully.

I always weigh the trim down or clamp it all together for a few hours as well, just to make sure all is stuck ok!!

Steve.

I would use Impact Adhesive. It's amazing stuff. But use in a well-ventilated area otherwise you'll be behaving strangely. Make sure you get the one that's full of solvents. The solvent free-version is rubbish.
