I drove round in the mini the other day with a hitchhiker thiething ******* with a decent camera (compared to my crappy one and put a lot of mine to shame) to take another load of pics. I've got far too many to post with a combined total of 160 pics, so I'll just post up some of the good ones/faves.

They look fantastic! They really extenuate an already good looking car!

Looks awesome! that hitchhikers photos turned out alright, even though he didn't have a ******* clue what he was doing

I've also deliberately left out the ones with the tart in them that kept cleaning it lol. And I think I'll stick to google maps/street view for future locations, as I don't plan on having a relationship and going on slightly tipsy night time wanderings, to then go back and take pics of a mini 8 or so years later lol.
Still it was nice getting the complements form random strangers, that guy that circled about 3 times and then stopped to ask if it was for sale, or having to steer round that bmw mini that had just broken down on the roundabout. I'm not bashing, but there must be some comedy valve in braking down in a bmw mini and then from the queue of cars trying to steer round is a 34 year old mini beeps past.

Haven't done a great deal, other than stripping the hammerite and repainting my rocker cover with £3 worth of spray cans from poundland. Witch took me 4 days thanks to the weather being too cold, wet and damp for spraying, and for someone dropping it while the paint was still wet (hence having to buy another can) and having to start over.
And it's taken me most of today making up a new blanking plate for my grill. As I switched over to an internal bonnet release a number of years ago for security reasons. But that left a large hole in the front of the grill witch could still allow access to pop the catch, so I'd made up and screwed a plate over the hole on the back of the grill.
But I've never really liked having just a black hole in the middle of the grill, so I butchered part of an old bonnet catch and epoxied it to my new plate to make it look like it still has the external bonnet catch. Plus I can see it really annoying my mot tester.

Something I'd made a few weeks back when I couldn't do much thanks to the snow, and has been sitting in the n/s door pocket ever since is one of these.
I was that bored not being able to do a great deal I went online (my internet history along with my eBay is pretty random) looking for a printable babies bibs templates, and used that to resize accordingly and to use as a template. It's made from 2 pieces of grey vinyl form a spare roll that's been too small to do anything else with. Some plastic from an old art folder witch is sandwiched inside and all the stitching done by hand. And as it was being hand stitched, I had to make every single hole (the 25 is only on one side) in both pieces with a drawing pin.
I'm not convinced it adds anything to the mini, hence why it just lives in the door pocket, and as it too so long to do I don't really want it getting ruined.

Thanks to the nice weather today I was able to take pics of two other 25 related items I'm made.
Fist up is a toolbox from Bhs a few years back one Christmas, that I've recently repainted and stickered. I've also lined the inside with grey felt and new dark grey carpet. And added a stick on motorbike number plate (witch was surprisingly easier than having illegal show plates made up) to the inside of one of the flaps, so it's hidden when closed up.
And my latest, a mini25 oil can (been washed out and is empty)
And the pair of them together.
Although I'm now stuck on what to do next, as neither project was cheap. The stickers alone for the 25 tool box were nearly £30 as used the same ones as on the mini, and the rattle paint (witch lots of flatting and polishing after) for the oil can was over £20, with the toolbox using more being larger/more parts to paint.

Unfortutaly they seam to be for a left hand driver car, and no way of ordering.

Wasn't as nice as it was yesterday, but got a few bits done. I flatted and polished up the inner boot lid. Unfortutaly there is at least 3 small areas I'll have to rub down further and repaint as they have missed being painted.
Another area that was missed being painted (being picky?) is the underside of the front number plate brackets.
And while the front bumper was off, I masked off and repainted the front bumper lip were the front bumper has been rubbing the paint. Unfortunately I'd also scuffed up the fresh paint refitting the front bumper afterwards, so I'll leave that for another day.
And after another recent trip to poundland after finding the paint I'd used on my rocker cover came out a lot better than i was expecting (and hasn't burnt off either), I thought I'd give repainting my brake master cylinder and bulkhead valve to a more stock looking gold. I'm waiting on the paint to fully dry before I remove the last of the masking and touch up any missed bits with a brush.
And purely out of curiously, I thought I'd give a can of the silver wheel a try. I've been wanting to smarten up the wheels (are perfectly ok at the moment) as I'm not liking the fact I painted them with hammerite. So as a test, as hammerite is a ******* with painting over and not getting reactions without having to fully sand down or strip. I thought I'd smarten up the outer face of the spare. After a quick rub down, mask up and spray it seams this paint will cover the hammerite without any issues and has a nice gloss to it once dry. Just 4 more cans to buy and 4 more wheels to do now.

Got my master cylinder, bulkhead valve and clutch slave (found a way of painting it without having to disconnect it) painting done. I've left the clutch master as I couldn't be bothered to mess around with the clevis pin. Still it's tidied it up bit for all of a pounds worth or spray paint and some black metal paint.
Also gave the horn (no pics) and the coil a freshen up as I had some paint left over.
So that's the engine bay done, not concourse, but pretty tidy for a mini that's used. All that's left is the bulkhead soundproofing once I source and buy some.

Having found a paint that will actually go over hammerite, I've been spending the last few days repainting my wheels (and sanding my fingers), only doing the front faces though.
Starting with the rears first, as they were the easiest to get at with the mini in the garage. After removing them, giving them a quick clean with my favourite wheel cleaner (I can't stand the smell but like the colour lol) a light sand to give the fresh paint a good key (hammerite doesn't really have much of a shine) and a mask up they were good to spray. It worked out I could do 2 wheels with one roll of masking tape (50p) and one can of the silver poundland spray.
Left them overnight, refitted them and then buggered about moving the mini around in the garage to be able to get the fronts off.
Gave them same treatment as the rears. Washed off, sanded, masked etc. and painted them. Only I've had to spend most of today resanding them, as the paint has wrinkled on both as they have dried.
I'm not entity sure why, As the paint covered fine on the spare and rears, all previously painted with hammerite, sanded and painted over. But from sanding the wheels again the wrinkling only seamed to be in the fresh layer of paint, but I've gone down further through the existing hammerite/primer just to be sure and I'll leave them a few days just to make sure (I've had issues in the past with the primer reacting). Just bloody frustrating, as every time I paint something I always seam to end up with some sort of reaction or issue.
But at least the rears look pretty decent, I can't take any decent pics while in the garage. But they look so much better, don't feel gritty and have a bit of a shine to them, not bad for the cost.
