Quick question in engine upgrades. I'm after advice as to what I could do to make this engine more efficient etc. I'm not looking for out and out power but something smooth but will keep up with todays traffic.
As you know the engine is a new SPi engine. I have twin 1/14 carbs a uprated manifold and exhaust and that's where it stops.
I will need to buy a new distributor and I'll probably fit electronic ignition.
I don't want to change to much but would it be worth changing the flywheel?
Cam?

How;re the images coming along? Mine now has it's wide wheels on, and just looking to sort the arches out. Just looking to see if I can find advice on cutting front wings for clearance.

Well, I need to get on with this. Had a quick look at the car today and I'm getting some fine surface rust appearing on the roof. Will need to sand back and etch prime when it gets warmer.

Okay, roof now protected with zinc primer, bought an airfed mask etc so now going to do the inside of the car in the next few weeks. Trying to finish my spitfire at the moment.

Haven't progressed at all but thought I would share with you some closer images of the donor car. This was the worst I could find in 2012 and beyond economical repair:
Looks okay here:
and here, in fact the front end isn't to bad:
Starts to get worse:
and worse:
and worse:
and worse
