Just a few small updates, stripped the engine to paint, nice new flywheel etc here:
Rocker brand new, never fired up:
Back to original 1275 Black, not sure if I preferred the red. Something therapeutic when you paint the engine, even in the cold. First coat done, hopefully just one more to do:

Like it! I'll have to pop some photos of my engine and box on here. Just in the process of building it all up together at the moment.

Hey Jase...just readed your project...new shell, me jealous 
, where did you bought it? Guess its with a Rod floor when you ordered the shell???? i wonder if they exist with a Remote floor...saw that M-Machine makes them .
about the rolloverjig, last weeks my project went out the good direction, so i guess i dont need that anymore ( what doesnt mean i never gonna buy one, seems a very practical item, life doesnt stops after 1 rebuild GT 
)

Thanks Fozz, I bought mine from British Motor Heritage, I think they only make the later shell as essentially this has just got a clubman front end, all the other features are mpi such as the larger hole in the boot floor for the injection bits.
I've kept my roll over jig as I'm going to dismantle my spitfire next and play with that, as you said it's an investment and can be used with any car.

Engine painted and back together, boot polished, next job repaint the bay again (slight contamination) and fit engine.

Just given the engine bay another coat of paint, wasn't happy with the finish, also rubbed down the boot ready for another coat, need to buy a new gun to do this.

Great looking project, keep up the good work and the updates
Regarding rocker cover I think the mini spares one in black looks quite good, you could always change the black to match the body colour.

As promised, sorry these weren't up sooner. It's now all been run in, and safe to say it's not this clean anymore. Also got a black DSN classics stat. housing to match the filter body.
Car now looks like this... ready for arches and wheels which is next on the list, along with some anthracite 1275GT stripes to match the superlite wheel centres. Subtle but hopefully effective.
