The front end looks okay in comparison to the rest of the car. Front subframe looks solid:

I thought the bonnet was shot when I looked at it last (6 years ago). Although on closer inspection I think this could be saved:

Wowee thats a crispy roof on the donor. I've come across a few clubbies that had bad roofs, especially in the corners. Is there a reason? Something to do with the factory process in the 70s? I wonder if the roundnose Mk3s had the same problem?

I think this car was just stored in the garden for the biggest part of 20 years, I'm surprised it lasted as long as it did.

Couldn't resist a cheeky polish, will need to flat it all back with wet and dry to smooth out minor blemishes:

Can't remove the pedal box. Managed to remove the clevis pin from the clutch pedal. Couldn't do this with the brake pedal as it had rusted in so decided to grind through the master cylinder and pull it from inside. Problem I now seem to have is that the brake cylinder arm is now preventing me from easing out the pedal box. Any suggestions? I guess I could just cut through the bulkhead but I think this could be useful to someone.

I have a new front loom, just wondering if it is worth removing the old loom for reference?

Always a boost buying something new and shiny, nowhere near fitting it but it looks fantastic:
