A little bit of advice dear viewers.
When doing lot's of welding and panel replacement, as you know swarf, grinding dust and what not goes everywhere. I do my best to clean up after myself but today i noticed that a load of fresh bright grinding dust and swarf had got trapped in all of the seams between the arch tubs and boot floor and between the bottom of the back panel and the boot floor.
If i left this/didn't notice it, then after a short stint of being stored outside in damp weather, the swarf and dust would have rusted and begun to attack the seams again which would have been a disaster.
I selotaped a drinking straw to the end of the hoover attachment and sucked it all out properly.
Just a word of warning as i have seen freshly restored mini's start to go at the seams sometimes even before it's even painted in colour and always wondered why.
I'm betting this is why.
Thought it was worth the warning.
cheers
Ben

Cheers mate.
It won't completely stall, if i can't get on with the shell, ill start building the engine or something.
There will be updates

good advice with the swarf removal. i always have a tack cloth to hand when before doing anything with seams and paint so nothing hopefully gets in there. glad that there will still be updates

Sorry to hear it hasn't gone to well
I felt like a cripple this morning, it took me 5 minutes to get down stairs.
Almost finished now though.
In other news, the Mini can't go in the back garden so the garage in a box idea is out the window. Both sheds have been left and one is large enough to make a decent workshop and i have room for 2 large benches and all of my tools and equipment.
The other shed is perfect for storing parts so it's not all bad news
ill try and get some pictures up tomorrow
Cheers
Ben

Afraid not, it's on the driveway under a tarp until god knows when.
i have just got a new job as a panel beater for a classic car restoration company which i start next week so i might ask if i can keep it there once i have been there a while.
I can work on it on my lunch break etc
