I wouldn't say removing the old one was difficult, it is just time consuming to do well.
I turned the car on it's side and cut the bulk of the floor out from just behind the rear bulkhead and just inside of the arch tubs and split it from the back panel and that gave good access to the seam welds that hold the centre seat belt mount to grind them away.
Then it was just a case of drilling the spot welds on the bottom of the rear bulkhead to floor seam and the seat base to heelboard and then cutting inbound of the rear companion bins to get the bulk of the seat base part out.
then drill out the remains of the seat base to the companion bins. the same on the arch tubs and that's about it apart from linishing the seams etc prior to fitting.
Thanks, that's all useful info, I've already whipped the companion bins out so that's one less thing to do, that said, I've some old floor to remove from the bins and some repairs to make where I've damaged them getting them out, don't seem to have rusted much though so at least that's two panels I don't need to buy

I also need to seam weld here
Once i have plug welded the seat base to the heel board, i will also add some seam welds on the back edge between the heel board and boot floor.
So that's it for today.
I can't say the car looks any different than earlier but at least i know that the quarter is sorted properly.
Cheers
Ben
Are these points originally seam welded or are you doing this for added strength / protection from ingress of water?

Those sections are normally brazed from the factory and welding is a slightly stronger and quicker way of doing the same job.

No update today i am afraid.
we have been threatened with more flooding and already our bathroom has flooded so we have been prepping for that.
I just finished my long day by stacking sandbags in front of the garage door.
It's probably not enough but it's all i have got.
Hopefully another proper update tomorrow or wednesday weather dependant.
Cheers
Ben

Do you have another door in to your house or is the garage the only way...if so looks awkward with all them there.
Hope all goes well mate.

Hopefully a false alarm!
I hope so but i doubt it by the way things have been plus severe local flooding less than a mile away
This is our problem
Its the run off from a nearby copse so gets blocked and overflows really easily and quickly. It's almost 6ft deep and goes from empty to full in around 40 mins if it's raining hard enough and of course, once it blocks and is not attended to, it overflows and floods.
That picture was taken this morning. less than an hour before it was clear and empty

Dam...shame you could not raise it temporally.
Mark.
I tried that last time. The force of the water just lifted the shell up and tipped it over. It picked my daily car up and moved it 10 foot down the drive into my other car
