Hi Ben I had no where for mine to go in new house as my garage is to small to work on it but I went on eBay and brought myself a gazebo for £40.00 and it's doing the trick ATM but not sure it would last in the winter strong winds etc but you can buy metal frame ones that are really strong. Cheapest option really unless you build one out of wood? Hope you don't get rid of it your doing a great job cheers Tom

Thanks everyone.

I am going to do my best to keep it. i just need to speak to a few people.

The new house backs out onto farmland so i will ask if i can bring the Mini down the field and over the fence into the garden.

then start working on the neighbours who apparently are not very tolerant of noise

Introduce yourself, explain the situation, and tell them you don't want to cause them any upset and if you do, you'd like them to tell you straight away. If they work you may be able to make loads of noise when they're out.

That's the plan. Hopefully they will be ok with it

Go and flick through the pictures of the mini and the house full of sludge and look at what you've overcome. This little hickup is nothing in comparison

you are right.

I have found someone in Sandown with a garage to rent on private land.

It says in the ad 'would suit classic car enthusiast.

I sent a message to them asking if they would allow work there

Ben, your neighbours should be understanding if you show them your build thread and how much work you've put into the mini. That said one way to properly annoy your neighbours would be to do work on the mini at 0:00 :P

I'm just a tad concerned because we met the people who own said house and they said previous tenants were asked to leave because of complaints of noise.

They just sound like they will be trouble

Wild parties until 3am, or a bit of tapping with a bodywork hammer?!?!?!?

Yeah I think that's the difference. Usually there is a story behind the headline. I'd bet the tenants were kicked out because they were unreasonable.

The landord said that there is a family one side and and the mother of the man of the house lives the other side.

No noise after 7pm then!

You could ask the landlord a bit more about the noise complaints, it's no good moving into somehwere where you can't fart in case the neighbours complain. It's not like you're going to get purple paint or G3 splatter all over their drive.....
