The only downside making a 1 piece panels is that where you stretch the metal it will end up a bit thinner, but if your welding is a bit questionable like mine, it can save a bit of work.

Yesterday i got the heelboard drilled, fitted and fully welded.
I can't make much of an update out of this because the camera has stopped working
Today, i will be fitting the closing panel, slinging brackets and the reinforcer panel.
Ill have to try and sort out a camera and take some photos.
Cheers
Ben

I have done loads again today, almost ready for the rear quarter to go on for the final time.
I also cut the old boot floor off as i was sick of the site of it.
still no pictures i'm afraid and i struggle to do an update without them

Hope you don't mind me adding this but my father showed me a way to make up panels like this with a curved edge from a single piece of steel. First you have to cut the curve onto two pieces of thickish chipboard to act as a former.
Sandwich a piece of steel between them leaving a slightly larger than flange size sticking out and clamp the two pieces together.
All you do then is carefully tap the edge over in the same way as you start off a door skin. As long as the flange isn't too wide you can do some quite complicated shapes.
If that doesn't make a lot of sense I will do a drawing to explain.
Really impressed with what you have been doing, I think it will probably end up better than it was when new !
You just saved my life with this tip! Going to try this out making some rear quarter top repair panels. I don't have the skills or patience to make them like Ben does! :)

I tried the webcam but it was faint and grainy.
I didn't realise people were so bothered about my progress!
