How quickly do you get through these things? thinking I will order some but not sure how many to go for....

They last a fair while. i would start off with 2 and then you can gauge how well they are likely to last for you. I can't say exactly because i don't use them all the time everytime so mine last months

Not much really to report today. I needed to give the garage a clear out so the Mini got to sit on the driveway and catch some rays. First time it's been out of the garage for about a year i think.

Whilst it was out on the drive, i had another play with the panel fit down the drivers side. I needed to sort out the way the Apex panel fits to the front edge of the door. as you can see a few posts back, the door in it's natural position sits to far back from the apex panel.

I took the door back off and using a couple of blocks of wood and a G clamp i managed to get the apex panel to come in just enough to more or less solve the problem :gimme:

Then i used a small G clamp to pull the bottom of the Apex panel arch lip in line with the one on the step.

Here is how i have got it so far.

All that seems to be wrong now is that the door still sits slightly back from the Apex panel but having a good look and feel of the door and all it's horrible prior repairs, the front edge seems to bend in slightly so i am sure that when the new skin goes on, it will all be spot on.

The overall gaps are starting to get there now although i need to have a play with the quarter panel when it comes to welding it on as this edit shows

Beside the red line, the door sits proud of the quarter panel so when it comes to weld it, i can bring the front edge of the quarter out slightly to meet the door perfectly/

Beside the yellow line, the quarter panel sits slightly proud of the door so i shall push on the quarter panel to move it in slightly before welding.

The rest of the door lines up perfectly with the quarter panel apart from the very top where obviously it currently is sitting on top of the remains of the old quarter.

So overall the gaps are starting to come together now. Ill leave them alone now until i reskin the door.

I put the other door on too just to compare how the window frame fits against the a post. The passenger side door is a perfect fit where as the drivers side sits in slightly to the a post so i have a plan of how to sort that but not until i get the old door skin off.

The rest of the pictures are just general shots of it out on the drive.

Are you sure you arent doing your mini in your living room? lol

Your garage looks like it with that window, window sill and radiator.

Your garage looks like it with that window, window sill and radiator.

When i first moved in, it had just been freshly plastered and decorated, it has skirting boards all they way round the radiator works on the central heating and gets HOT!!

I could have put a carpet down and used it as another room to be fair.

It is great for working in during the winter though. Especially with the fridge for cool drinks, the freezer for food and the small oven on top for coking stuff up whilst working.

Lovely!!

couple of packages arrived today.

First these. Thank you to Ellie for finding them for me :-)

The covers are what i need but there are only 15. also some are a bit scruffy so ill see what i can salvage and they will be painted with a plastic paint to make them all nice and black again.

And then these courtesy of Cliff.

Thank you so much for donating those Cliff :-)

These are what i mainly wanted

They are OE floor bungs which you can't buy and nobody wants anyway but as i am going for originality, these will be straightened, cleaned and then fitted with s sealant to the floor before the Bitumen sound proofing goes down.

The other bungs are a bonus :-) and will be used as most of mine are lost..

I don't know mate.

I shall put a ring of sikaflex around the holes and then push the bungs into place and then wipe round the circumference of the bung with my finger to smooth it in and take the excess off.

Then once the sikaflex is dry, ill bend the tabs back over from underneath and then the bottom will be stone chipped once the bungs are done.

Then obviously the bitumen will be laid on the inside of the floor covering the bungs as per original
