Ok, so i went on a weld-a-thon today to get the remaining plug welds finished on the inner wing.
I usually do a dozen, grind them up then do a dozen more but i didn't fancy grinding plug welds today so i just done the lot in one go.
You can see in the last picture that i had to plug weld a load of blank holes up as i drilled them in the wrong place when i prepared the inner wing.
Next i needed to make up a small piece to go in here
So usual template and then onto steel
And then in
You can just see it in that pic. I need to get something in there to grind the welds back as the grinder won't fit.
I trial fitted the stiffener in which fits perfectly.
And then an overall
Next time, i need to fill the blank holes in the inner wing that are not needed, There are quite a few.
here is the old one
And the new
Until next time....
Cheers
Ben

Great progress today Ben! I haven't done much because it's windy and raining up here.
One thing, are you planning on welding the captive "block" under the bulkhead cross member that the shocker mount bolts thread into ? Just a quick heads up in case you might have overlooked it :)

It's going to be a shame to cover up all that loverly neat welding and fabrication work with seam sealer paint and carpets!
I'm aiming to get it as perfect as i can before the sealer and paint goes on, even under carpets and in places that won't ever be seen.
I'm even going to replace the bitumen sound deadening on the floors to an exact match to what it was like new.
Cheers

Cheers Clifford.
It's been lovely here today! Shame about the weather up yours.
I have the captive block in a box of bits on the bench. I need to find the pedal box and mount it so i can mark out the holes. Thanks for pointing it out though. Forgetting that is just the sort of thing i would do and wouldn't realise until it was painted
Cheers
