Cheers guys.
No more progress yet as my eye hasn't fully recovered yet.
Should get back to it after Christmas if all goes well.

Haha you sound like me....perfection is key although from the pics that floor looks pretty good to me
Cheers!
yeah, i am aiming to get it looking like it hasn't been touched. I'm not a fan of visible plates and patches even underneath the car or beneath carpets etc where you might not necessarily see them.
I'm not trying to fool anyone by doing this, i just want it to have that factory fresh look through and through if i can

I clamped up the inner wing again today to have a look at the mammoth gap there seems to be between the bottom front edge of the Inner sill where it tucks behind.
Got a pair of c grips in through one of the drain holes and it's almost there. I don't know how it happened because the inner sill is straight and so is the floor.
I guess it's just a Mini thing...

I completely agree all plates wherever they are should have welds ground down and then skimmed and made invisible. Having a retired panel beater for a dad defo helps :)
Glad to hear you've sorted the panel gaps...another one of my pet hates haha

Here is a few pics of what i mean.
General fit is pretty good considering everything that's been done in this corner!
Nice and snug to the toe board
And here it is pulled into the sill with C clamps
Better than it was, i could get my fingers in the gap that was there and i can't move it up anymore. The floor/sill will have to come down to the inner wing.
Just this gap to sort now
I will clamber into the shell and knock the floor down with a block of wood and a BIG hammer

Ben, cant you cut the lip off, remove some metal and re-weld it on to lose the excess rather than bashing the floor out
Out of interest, would you mind me asking where the inner wing was from, I see its heritage. I was thinking of ordering one from M Machine but looking at the price I guess they are non-gen ?

I did consider that but as it fit's so badly there, it must mean the floor is too high so it will have to go down.
I won't be bashing the floor about, it will have 1 or two sharp blows with a nice big block of wood. It won't do any damage if done correctly.
My inner wing came from M-machine. I think they are about the cheapest.
