It's good to hear that you got home alright. Hope the eye feels better soon. It sucks to be unable to see properly.

I am a terrible passenger at the best of times!
You've never commented on my driving, hmmmm come to think of it, you've never spoken whilst I've been driving. Maybe that's all about fear

They heal amazingly quickly. Couple of days and it will just be a little irritating.

I am so glad i didn't leave it and i have people here nagging me to go in. Was a but scary that my lift to the hospital can't see very well in the dark, he was all over the road, swearing that he couldn't see a thing. I am a terrible passenger at the best of times!
Unfortunately I didn't once when I scratched the lens of my eye while trying to get something out of it while grinding. I just assumed it was just sore, like it would be if you've just been poking yourself in the eye. It wasn't until I woke up the next morning with my eye welded shut, unable to see out of it properly and a rather nasty eye infection.

I had similar thing a few years back grinding away took goggles off to have a look rust fell off straight in eye hospital sorted it put patch over my eye drove home with one eye only which was scary was funny when pulled up at lights watching people's reaction ( on the blind side ) lol
Keep up the good work doing a complete restoration myself .
I had a similar experience after getting brick dust in my eye. I had to drive from Sittingbourne to Maidstone (about 15 miles) on a dual carriageway and a motorway barely able to open my eyes. It was middle of summer too so bright sun to contend with.
I would never do that again, it was the most frightening drive i have ever made.

Just read this and seen your eye, glad its getting better now,
A bloke I worked with got hit in the eye with a wire strand from a knotted wire brush wheel on a grinder. Punctured his eyeball, looked really sore, he was off work for 3 months and broke his leg riding a motorbike into a wire fence he couldn't see with only one eye.
