Some parts I cant avoid buying new but im not interested in piling massive amounts of money into it with all new parts. If I can use spares and second-hand parts where possible then im fine with that.

Hi TB12
Just bear in mind that there are known to be less than 12 of these variants left on the planet and there is a line round the block who want mine, the last genuine offer was 4K and I am putting a new galvinised body on that will cost me 1K .Its not only Loyyds shares you should be investing in.There are some second hand parts on mine but I have not stepped away from the original design or spec as this will devalue the vehicle dramaticly. Avoid putting twelve inch wheels on because of the raised centre of gravity that is already higher than the standard mini it causes bearing failure very quickly and makes the vehicle unstable when loaded.
I fitted hi-lo suspension which allows you to level up the horizontal aspect ,as the vehicle is loaded it tends to drop at the front.
Also fitted a sump guard.
Sounds like I have spent a fortune but in fact she probably stands me at 1K including the purchase.
Even with the new body she still only bites me for half of her sale price ,not that there is going to be a sale I hasten to add ,I hope my grandkids will be driving this one day.

Mini Magazine came to view the Jiffy today to do a photoshoot for 'On The Job'. The freshly painted flatbed was bolted loosely back down and it also gave me a chance to temporarily attach the doors and bonnet. The rebuilt steering column and the cleaned seats also got to meet the cab again for the first time in months.
The Mini Magazine shots were much more nicer and they had lighting rigs for good effect but these gives a good view of how it will look once its done. The shabby patina style paint and the surface rust steel wheels give it a lot of character in my opinion now that its back together. I think I will keep it that way for a while.
Apparently the magazine spread will be in Mini Magazine in 2-3 months.

As promised Jiffy 1 with new tipper body fitted today this body is a copy of the original design but the frame runs to the perimiters, on the original body the floor was folded on the edges and this led to severe corrosion as a water trap.to stop any future corrosion it as been constructed with all parts galvanised.
If the sides and tailgate are removed the body then becomes a flat bed

I like it when parts turn up at work. I tried jump starting the Jiffy a week or so ago using the existing wiring. It turned over easily and I had fuel in the cylinders but it turned out he distributor cap was knackered. Also the coil was crushed so in reality I was being a bit wishful!
I already have a new coil lying around from when my Mini ran a dizzy, which I know works and is non-ballast so the right type.
These parts cost a pricey £8.95! They also arrived in less than 18 hours so I congratulate Accuspark on frankly brilliant service.

Well its been a while since I updated this. I appear to have missed my original deadline of this show season! Dont all projects?? I have the cab mounted now and I have finally sourced some hinges which will fit the doors! I want to get the doors on and the cab weather sealed before the colder weather sets in. Im sure I will get this thing back in one piece soon!

If anyone happens to buy Mini Magazine this month you will see the Jiffy lurking in the 'On the Job' section.
