Not a V8 (Its a Jubilee with V8 wheels & steering wheel) but Shifty is relieving me of the Jiffy in exchange for said MGB.

Must have been repainted then as Jubilee's were green with gold stripes iirc.  Looks in good shape none the less.

Phil.

Edit: Scratch that, it does look green now I look again, just missing the stripes.

And it's gone! Shifty is now in ownership of this quite fantastic vehicle! He assures me it will be present at Bingley!

Hiya,

I posted my new project (Minus Maxi!) a couple of days ago and was just browsing through for interesting/weird stuff (like the Minus Maxi!) and saw the Jiffy thread. Quality!

You were asking about the drive shaft couplings and I see nobody replied. They are the original rubber crucifix but prone to absorbing oil (why would that be a problem on a mini......) then the rubber degrades and they break up and all sorts of bad things happen.

Back in the day you could buy a nylon version with needle rollers (by Quinton Hazell) which Mini Spares are now reproducing. They are harder so they seem harsher but they will last way longer than the rubber and take a bit more punishment although I guess this isn't a racing Jiffy?

Attached File  IMG_5528.jpeg   37.1K   7 downloads.    My Jiffy has now passed its test and is on the road, plan to put a good pick up flat bed on the back (temp one in place for MOT) and it needs the cab painted. It is running well now since being tuned.

Suspension at the front (mini subframe and Angie) is springs and crashes over bumps, need to see why.
