I'm waiting to see how he's going to do the back suspension....

Well the plan is to tub the arches, wind the hi-los right down and put on some lowered dampers. If I am able to save up enough to get it done before uni I will also put the minitastic street springs on the rear to replace the rubber trumpets as it lowers it a bit more and is supposed to be very comfy

So just lowered then, and not with the vast over camber

Well it depends on your opinion on vast camber! I'm going to have -2 at the rear and possibly around that, maybe more at the front with adjustable. I'm getting the parts in the next couple of weeks hopefully so I will just have a play around when I get it and just set it at what I feel looks right and what gives my car a nice stance

Right sorry updates have been few and far between, been very busy with finishing off a-levels and choosing universities. With all that done I set for a good summer of car shows and started it off with brook lands which then ended very abruptly. Long story short I broke down many times on the m25 as whenever I applied pressure to the throttle my engine died. The last straw was when I was trying to limp home and it cut out completely in the 3rd lane making me cruise across 3 lanes of traffic to get it to the hard shoulder  >_<

After that eventful day I set out trying to find out what was wrong and fix it...BY MYSELF! Yes I wanted to learn the old school way and just keep doing stuff until it worked and with only the help of friends and a haynes manual. I started off replacing the dizzy cap, then the HT leads, then the coil. That made it better but it still kept cutting out. At this point I was dumbfounded as to what could be wrong and decided to take it to a garage for them to have a look. Up to this point I was daily happy with myself as someone with no training or mechanical knowledge I was able to replace some stuff even though it was dead easy.

Well at the garage and they find out I had a crushed fuel line and an aftermarket solid state inline fuel filter which was a different bore to the carb meaning the hose connecting them was useless. So I had the fuel system re-done and a new filter put in after the fuel tank and before the pump which was the right size. Drove it home and the fuel hose falls off  >_<

Managed to re attach it only to then have the fuel overflow at the float chamber. Replaced that and hey ho it now works! Was a bit of a long process but I wanted to have a go at working it out myself.

Any way here is the engine bay with the new coil and HT leads:

I decided to give it a good clean as it was feeling sorry for itself after its many breakdowns:

...in other news I can finally share my magazine feature and FRONT COVER in mini magazine which I managed to bag myself at mini fair. I am so happy with the great article (Jeff Ruggles) and photos (Matt Woods) and can't believe I have come all this way with it. Don't worry though I still have many more plans...

Got this far? (sorry for the long post  ;D

Well I thought it was all starting to go my way, mini was fixed, mag was out and it was about to go into the body shop to be tubbed but then the body shop said they couldn't do it which is a right pain as I have a show I need to get to on the 13th June and I ideally wanted it done for then. Luckily I have spoken to the people who painted my car who are giving me a quote on friday and are going to try to fit me in before the 13th so fingers crossed!

Good looking mini! Love the wheels! The show on the 13th isn't Players Classics by any chance?

Sahweet! Be good to see another mini there! Will have to have a good look over it :) I'm in the air lift showcase bit with mine. It's not worthy enough for show and shine yet!

What have you got on display there? Is your mini on air?

I'll be in my mini! Mini isn't on air, Think it's called that as the show is presented by airlift. Though I did look and air lift showcase ticket is for club stands :/ I must have ballsed up somewhere 😂

Long time no updates! Sorry about that

I have been busy moving house and enjoying taking my mini to shows and being on the mini magazine stand before I head off to uni!

I have managed to get a few jobs done on the mini over the summer and I have been organising a big change which will happen to the mini over winter (my mini will go pshhhhhh)

Anyway I managed to get the rear arches tubbed in the end which was a relief and I was able to really enjoy players classic and felt privileged to be one of only 2 minis in the main area! As well as tubbing the rear arches I was able to fit rear camber brackets with the help of Chris1992 and his dad. It ended up being a pain in the backside to fit them as the old rusty bolts keep snapping and we ended up having to drill and re-tap some at 11:30pm the night before a show which was not fun . However we did get it done and I couldn't have done it without Chris1992 and his dad to a big thanks goes out to them!

00000000-0000-0000-0000-0000000000E7_zps

As well as doing the camber that night I also fitted a new wooden mountney steering wheel which I picked up at Mini World Live. My old steering wheel was meant to be a placeholder just until I found one I liked but it was on for 2 years which was 2 years too many! But the new steering wheel is on and certainly adds a bit of retro class to the interior.

Other interior upgrades I have got up to over the summer is using an idea of Chris1992 and re-spraying my headliner black using black vinyl spray.

I started off by removing all the seats in my car and then taping up all the windows and anything I didn't want to get paint on. This was as easy as buying some making tape from Homebase and using leftover packaging paper from moving house.

00000000-0000-0000-0000-0000000000EC_zps

I then proceeded to spray the headliner and sun visors which took about 2 1//2 cans of the paint and worked a treat! However as I still had my windows in unlike Chris I managed to choke myself out many times, believe me when I say this stuff is seriously strong stuff!

00000000-0000-0000-0000-0000000000F0_zps

Once I had painted the headliner I also added some faux suede to my front pillars and rear bins to help tie the interior all in as I want to keep it cream and black and all toning (sorry forgot to get any specific pictures of this). This I will admit was another pain in the backside and something I underestimated as trying to create a template for the rear bins was a fiddly job and I ended up just glueing the material on and then cutting it once it had dried onto the rear bins.

This is all the real progress I have got as now but I took the opportunity with the nice weather to have a little photoshoot on my new drive as this is the last week with my mini before I go off to uni and it goes in for some works so enjoy the pictures!

I have recently had a clutch failure so that is currently being fixed and then the mini is being dropped off at the body shop while I'm at uni for its MOT and for a few other bits such as new sills which will be body colour, removing the front badge and a few other cosmetic bits. The front camber brackets will also hopefully be fitted so I can add some camber up the front and then get maximum scene points . It will also be prepped ready for the big change over winter!
