Are those Monroe air shocks your using?
Yeah they are, very slow to inflate as they run at a really high pressure and really long but they're about the only ones that fit width wise with the size wheels I have

That is one cool ass looking car now I kind of like the black arches and chin spoiler to...

You wouldn't happen to have part numbers for the front and rears you using would you?
I've been considering air ride on my estate for a while but couldn't find anything suitable until I saw your setup.

I've always though it would be interesting to run air shocks with front and rear anti roll bars to control the wallow and adjustable rebound buffers so you could set the max ride height and then add extra pressure to the shocks to firm them up.

What's the ride quality like with the air shocks? I remember a chap on retrorides using them for his lotus elite and that looked amazing! His ride quality was fairly comparable to standard he said, be it slightly more wallowy .

Couldn't feel a difference to the hi-lo setup I had on it before. Handles exactly the same and still feels like a mini so I can't fault the feel of them.
Sorry don't know the numbers, they are just the ones used for a beetle so try looking on Lime Bug. I would say don't do it because it's so much work and it's been a stupid long and expensive journey but I know you've got the fab skills so you can probably do it in your sleep and make me look bad hahaYeah they are, very slow to inflate as they run at a really high pressure and really long but they're about the only ones that fit width wise with the size wheels I haveAre those Monroe air shocks your using?

They feel lovely on a Rolls-Royce. You waft along on a cushion of air 😃
Great mini by the way Doormatt

I've found the Monroe ones I've used very different. I've ridden in a couple of cars on air and they're like that but because mine run at such a high pressure they're rock solid and feel much more like the standard suspension

Iv got a pair of the same Monroe shocks I used to run on my Omega's rear suspension.....
The Omega shocks must be twice the length of the Mini's LOL
They can be retrofitted without the compressor, as long as you get the Schrader valve and pressure guage with the kit :)
I think you've inspired a lot of people to go with air suspension.... including myself....

I hope I haven't haha, it's been a horribly long and expensive journey and I wouldn't want anyone else to do it haha!

At the moment I'm looking at Land Rover Discovery compressor systems as the latter systems seem to run without an air tank.
Probably not the best if you want to up and down quickly but could be a nice compact option for the patient few.

No you've definitely started something now Matt and I'm sure we'll all be cursing you for it.

What have I done...
Air tanks are the cheap part, plus they can look cool in a good boot build. I'm really going to have to think of some more crazy stuff to do to mine now if everyone is going to start bagging minis haha

Id cut out the boot floor and repalce it with a flatter one and put a false floor in. A bit like the composite boot floors you get but made from steel. The best example i can think of this is prawns 1380 me, he done this except it was for his fuel tank and then made a plywood covering for it. Have a look on turbominis and you might be able to find pics.
