Short journeys are fine (sub half hour) but if I'm driving any longer my ankle really aches, to the point of having to pull over every once in a while.

I'm not exceptionally tall (6') and I've put the seat back as far as it can go. I can't remember having the same problem with my previous mini (i know they're not very comfortable long distance anyway).

Is there anything I can do or is it a case of putting up with it?

Drive faster! Your ankle will be at less of an awkward angle then :D

Which ankle? Clutch ankle or accelerator ankle? If its cold, my accelerator ankle goes numb but its not too uncomfortable and I'm 6ft1" lol

Accelerator ankle hurts every single time on an extended journey over half and hour. I'm 6ft2" by the way, so I kind of expected it wouldn't be a comfortable ride. You can get extenders to push the seat further back but don't expect anybody to be comfortable behind you. I have growing children, so find I have to give them some room in the back! They can be inconsiderate....

I suffer this too, only 6'1" but stockily built. I might give extended seat brackets a go as when the Mini is back it'll do regular 600 mile round trips.

Hi there, It is a problem we all suffer at some time or another. You need to adjust your seating position slightly turning outwards to face the door rather than the centre. Turn your accelerator foot sideways and throw your knee out to the side. You can then put your toe against the wheel arch which allows for great cruise speed control. I then find I can pull in my left leg and rest my left hand on my knee to hold the wheel. Very comfy. Other then that a set of extended pedals allows for different foot positions. I know it sounds uncomfortable but just try it. you find that you sit with your legs further apart ( not ladylike I know) and more slouched in the seat for comfort.

I get this too, and i'm pretty short.

I get it on my clutch foot. I have an orange clutch but it seems really heavy. Makes me wonder how heavy a double grey clutch plate much be?!

Your all getting far to old. Fragile bones and all that ;-).

I don't get a sore ankle but I wear stupid loose high top shoes so I get a sore heal where it rubs on the inside of the shoe..

Replace your seat mounts with ones that are further back?... isn't hard to fabricate it yourself.

Cheers for the replies. Ill see if I can't get hold of some seat extenders. It just seems weird how one mini can be fine and another isn't?
