I have found the refit is where you find loads of bits to buy and it seems to keep holding me up when I find something else I need, the exhaust was my biggest hold up so far as the new one from mini spares wouldn't fit with the floor start so I had to find a new old stock one, only one I could get was off a van so then had to alter it to suit, so an hours job to fit an exhaust ended up taking about three weekends.

The exhaust has been biggest problem, I understand you can bend a new one to fit but I tried and although it cleared the starter button terminals it just didn't look right and also didn't bolt properly to back of gearbox,
I had issues with simple parts that I thought I would be able to buy new, but found early cars are not covered so don't throw anything away no matter how rough it is, my front subframe is held on with studs and nuts and threads in subframe towers are larger than later cars so had to get my original studs straightened and cleaned up on threads with a die as couldn't find new ones, also the locking plates are different to what's available at mini spares.

Cheers daz ile keep my eyes peeled open for a exhaust the original was rotten so I chucked it. most of the original parts I have reused and painted up but some are far gone but have kept them in box just incase. Cheers Tom

Thanks Alex josh and Ross. to be honest josh I don't really know what I need yet until I fit something and it's missing or to rotten To use. hopefully I don't have any troubles fitting anything now. Cheers tom

Wow... Tom i have just read through this over the last few days on my lunch breaks etc what a stunning car, and cannot beleive that its the same shell, utter credit to you sir. She looks stunning. Will keep watching this build cant wait to see the car coming together :)
