lol i took the boot of and the hole rear panel was coming with it and i took the tank out and the shell went down more basically the tank was holding it up haha.I've had an idea of how you can cut the boot off, and everything under it, all in one go: take off the boot lid wire, then just let the lid drop, im sure most of it will come off in one go

ile try my best thanks tomNah it's not impossible, I thought that about mine, and I'm sure there I much worse out there. If you put your mind to something it can work. It's justs awesome to see someone wanting to keep another classic alive!
thanks. it needs alot of work but as its my first time doing something this bad! it makes me think it impossible to rebuild
After seeing it earlier it does need some love, but it will be so worth the effort, especially being a Mk1!

cheers mate ile keep my eyes peled open.I bought a genuine full floor and toe board for £480 from a member off here, I think the floor is £535 new and the toe board is £65. Although this is a later floor, but I think would be an ideal choice for your project...
Good luck

making a start on this now going to strip it to bare shell done a couple of hours tonight and got the center clock wiring loom headlights heater box out just trying to think of a way to jack it up so i can remove the engine and subframes. i might not bother repairing this shell to much money and work for me to do and might be cheaper to buy a good shell that has been restored unless there is someone local that wants to take this challange on for welding then give me a pm. pictures will be up in the week. cheers tom

You'll struggle finding a mk1 shell these days Tom, best bet is either graft a mk3 onwards shell into this one or start a fresh with a later shell and convert the mk3> parts to mk1 spec (time consuming task)

ino yeh i was thinking if i get a solid mk3 shell and convert it to a mk1 shell wouldnt this be less welding and work then rebuilding this shell? why couldnt you be closer i would just drop it of at yours and say here you are lol
