I have a problem with bumpers I looked at loads at the mini show last week and couldn't find any I would be happy with.
It what comes of cheap stuff from china.
I also bought some bits including windscreen wiper mounting kit, had to rethread all the bars as the turning was such poor quality they wouldn't screw into the motor housing.
As for the grill it would need taking to pieces and the steel parts painting then reassembling, be careful what you put on the aluminium as it will scratch very easy, maybe just use g3 compound on a damp cloth. The moustache I would buy new, but they are awkward to fit they are available in stainless and chrome on brass.

I am trying to reuse as much original parts as I can, not just cost but to retain the old feel of the car. I have also found a lot of new parts are of very poor quality and the old items cleaned up are better.

daz did you see those stainless bumpers on the floor £40 each? i thought yeh right they will be rusty this time next week! lol ile try my best to clean it up and paint the backing plate black aslong as it doesnt look tatty once fitted on the car then it will be awsome to use the original. and i have some g3 polishing paste ile give it the final clean with this stuf.. cheers tom
