hi harry basically its going to need new metal from the bottom a foot up. the whole floor has gone. the boot floor is like sogey cardboard. i dont even want to look at it yet cheers tomLooking good mate. How rotten is the rest of the car? Is it as bad as the floor?

sounds good. will have to get some panels how much isit to buy a complete floor panel?if I was you my next step would be to think logically what does the floor weld to ? toe board, headboard door steps ect I would see what they are like and do them next so the shell can have the floor welded in then the shell will have regained a lot of strength, then I would worry about stripping the car down any further

i was putting 20 a week away for it lol ive wanted a mk1 for ages. and this one popped up 5 minutes up the road so was very ideal. everyone even my old man thinks i am tapped in the head and hes not sure im hes restoring this ile prove him wrong!! enjoy.Christ another one already, you've either got too much money, time or are just mental. Haha only kidding.

cheers darren looks like a full floor is the way then. thanks tomYou can get them cheaper buying the floor halves and tunnel and welding together but the full £500 floor comes with outer sills and heal board in line as it should be so takes the guess work out of it when you have as little reference points as you do

Nah it's not impossible, I thought that about mine, and I'm sure there I much worse out there. If you put your mind to something it can work. It's justs awesome to see someone wanting to keep another classic alive!thanks. it needs alot of work but as its my first time doing something this bad! it makes me think it impossible to rebuild
After seeing it earlier it does need some love, but it will be so worth the effort, especially being a Mk1!
