cheers mate the main thing now is getting it braced up.Now there's and idea, just if only I had enough room for another mini... or even two half's of one lol.
seriously though I do think it looks worse than it actually is with all the grime, dirt and greenery growing all over it, if you stick with the doors and bracing (like in the minitec link) plan, that's half the battle in keeping it square and cracking on with a new floor etc.

hahaile stop moaping now. i have done the bracing today and cut the floor out. pics comingI would get lots more box section brace anywhere you can across the door frames in every direction link all the boxing up like a web inside even to the rear seat back. I know you say there is nothing to weld to that's because your in the mind set of a reshell and can't see it working the roof and body sides look ok and the rest is replaceable so stop moaping about and get on with it lol

cheers mate i have braced it today. and got the floor out. pics comingHello Tom, I found this project at last. Yes this does look as bad as my MK3. But I got it solid again pretty quick. The key as already mentioned is getting it braced. Doorways, side to side, up & down. Which ever way it might change. Take plenty of measurements. It looks like the passenger side is more solid so that could be a good reference for the drivers side. The corrosion on your shell looks very similar to mine in that way. Once you get a few solid panels in it will become alot more rigid. I used 90% heritage panels as well. How the panel lined up helped me make sure the shell was somewhere close. A re-shell would be a shame. I took the engine out fairly early on just to take some weight out of it. Check my MK3 thread for ideas on panel choices. Good luck.

Whats the rear boot area like ?
cutting the front would be a start but might be wise to leave the a-panels alone as that a-post looks tired.
