hi all got the fuel pipe hole welded up with both little plates from floor to arches are welded in and both rear companion boxes are welded in just needs to clean it up and put some seam sealer around the joins. and etch primer. going to give it a good clean up next and then make a start on the rear bulkhead and parcel shelf. here is some pictures thanks tom

One thing else you might want to do id the bulge at th rear seat to the left that is different to the other side is originaly on the mk1 not there, if you look at the crayford convertible project thread you'll see what i mean :proud:

Here's a pic of mine before painting, the seat base is defo different to panel you have fitted, but no one will see it though so depends how fussy you are

thanks lads im not fussed about that part its not going to be a showcar aslong as its solid again and can be driven on the roads again. 

 

not much of an update on the shell but seam sealed rear arches and around any joins in the boot area grinded back to bare metal around the roof rail and red oxide rust zinc painted around the edges and then etch primed the inside and out. thanks tom

I wish my roof was as good as yours. I've got loads of work to do on mine, infact I think I will have to put a new roof on mine 😔 want to swap :-)

Well it's looking superb, and I must agree about the boot floor panel, not really worth the trouble as it will never be seen once trim is in and as it's a new panel not worth cutting. Won't be long before you have nothing left to weld.

thanks mate ino its amazing the roof panel is in excellent condition for this age of car but everything else rusted? is it not the roof that takes all the water snow ice etc lol it had surface rust on corners but with a grinder it come up like new metal again.. cheers tom
