hi all got the rear panel welded in place and made a start on the rear arches but to get these in place i am pritty sure wheels and shock absorber needs to be fastened so put all 4 wheels on. the right back wheel seem to be sitting in more then the left rear wheel. but once the arch is pushed in and welded that should pull it in i hope. any advise on welding these rear arches in would be great thanks tom

When you put your wheel arches in, it might be a good idea to check a measurement between the upper shock mount holes in the wheel arches. If that helps? I could measure mine for you, but they made need a pinch of salt as I don't think I checked mine when I put mine in. Hindsight is a glorious thing huh!

It would be nice if a few others could throw in a measurement too, as like I said , I can't remember measuring mine when I put them in 😃 and I don't want to throw you a curve ball lol

hi all going to go in the garage and get the rear arches ready for welding tomorrow.my measurments are ok and the same so now i can weld them in place? i know i have to spot weld around the arches but inside of the boot do i have to fully seam weld all the way around the arch to the boot floor? or just seam 3 inches here and there all the way around it? also while i am here the boot floor fuel pipe hole is a big round hole atm but on a mk1 mini is it just a small hole for one pipe to go threw? any pictures of your mk1 fuel pipe boot floor holes would be great thanks tom

the bottom of the inside of the arch can be spot welded to the flange of the boot floor from underneath the car mate.
But a few runs of weld inside won't do any harm!
Think it was just MPi's that had the big hole for the fuel lines so it should just be one small hole but don't quote me on it.
Looks really good!

Ahh sounds good Tom, nice progress.
I hate it when you run out of gas mid welding work , and 9 times out of 10 its just 30 minutes past the closing time of your suplier!!! Hahha
