You have done a superb job so far, bet its really rewarding seeing things coming together after so long.

thanks daz yes i am feeling much happier that what i have achieved for my first time welding and cutting metal panels down that are dear and i could of made a big shambles at it. in some places i do see it is not as good as other peoples welding i should of been more neater on the welding but hopefully i can only get better. i think after this one the next one shouldnt take as long due to knowing what to do and etc. cheers tom

Tom, I'm shocked ! Have the pixies been In ? Bloody fantastic progress there mate! You have made a fantastic job of this ! You should be very proud of what you have achieved , it's amazing how far you've got , and you've left me on the horizon ! And you reckoned I would be in paint first?! No chance lol, I'm still fighting rust 😔

Lol mate I ain't been hiding 😃 I started a course to finally get official qualifications for what I do, so most of my evenings have been taken up by that, but I've still had a few evenings on the mini, but very slow progress. Hopefully I will finish the course by September so can crack on again in Ernest then, but you'll be finished and on the road by then !!

When finished is it one with the grey fleck trim, if so my car is a 62 deluxe so can help identify parts in the future if needed, am just starting to put mine back together.

hi daz do you mean the color of the interior trim? if so it was all red inside but it was all recovered so its not the original interior to this year of car it could of been grey. but i most likely to go with the red again as it does stand out. thanks tom

Mine is a 62 deluxe, door cards and rear cards are green, dash trim is grey fleck and seats are green and grey fleck and is floor start, what year is this one, but plain red will look good but think there was two reds on early cars. But you have plenty of time to plan the interior more important things to do first.

Hi tom.

Glad you finally got your back panel!

Is it in the right place? only in the photos, it looks like the lip where the bottom of the window rubber fits is too high.

Oh i hope its just the photo :ohno:

hi ben yes it is high i need to grind it down level with the original window. i couldnt fit the hole new rear panel as the window size is different so i have had to cut it like i have. it will be fine once i weld grind it back. thanks tom
