On my mk1 now I think of it there is a small spacer in my box of bits but I had forgot where they go, but the ones I have are only about 3mm thick I thought they went on top of the crossmember though so I may need to check it out before I finish the car they are shaped same as the lock plates that fit on top and have a layer of sealant on them

hi cliff i dont have any spacers only the one that act like a washer plate where you bolt it down. there is no other spacers as i diodnt have any when i stripped it. got a piccy of what i would need? cheers mate.

Hi Tom

this is the spacer used on a MK3, it might be the same on a MK1 with dry suspension, but i am not 100 % sure.

(it says pre 1976)

Those are the spacers on my 1962 mk1, I also have studs and nuts holding subframe on not the long bolts as on later cars

Yes I double checked mine and I have a spacer similar to one in link available now, but mine is made up of a 3mm approx thick plate and a thinner plate spot welded to it, then I have the plate on top of crossmember with the locking tabs but again it is different to one available, mine has no hole in the centre and also has a sealant on underside to stop water getting inside the towers above the rubber cones. Hoping to fit my subframes soon then start putting the car together, can't wait. Although I haven't painted the doors and bonnet yet along with hinges and other odds and sods so still plenty to do, yours will look more like a car and give you a boost when the floors in.
