cant see a problem with spot welding Tom. its how they did it in the factory on all the seams to cant be wrong. Perhaps his is referring to lap joints on repairs, and they do need needing mig / seam welding.
And at the end of the day, as long as you're happy with it, and you know its a good weld, then I doubt it will be a problem :)

thanks lads. he must of got me wrong then he might be thinking im putting new sections of the floor in not a full floor. i need a spot welder does anyone no if you can hire spot welders?? and i am going to get the inside of the roof sorted before i fit the floor as i dont want little bits of rust on it and in the grooves around the edges whats the best way to tackle this surface rust?

thanks mate i dont really want to buy one as i will only use it this once unless i can get a good cheap one to do the job. hopwfully i will never have to go threw this much welding again lol. if anyone is reading this and no where there is a cheap one going then please let me no or even better ile hire it of you. thanks tom

thanks james its alot less space then my other garage but atleast i can have a nice cuppa when i want and if the misses moans ile just go in the garage out the way or even if the mother and father inlaws come round ile be in the garage out the way to lol cheers tom
