hi mate where did you get your lower section from? cheers tom

It's a heritage one from my localish mini shop, dsn.

After looking at your panel, I don't think it will be big enough, as it is only 2 1/4 " tall from the lower lip. About 2 inches below the bottom light hole.

Hope that help mate

hi mate do you reckon i could remake the metal where it doesnt meet? got a link mate or pics of how you done yours? cheers tom

Now going to garage to take pictures for you 😃

hi all cleaned up the rear bulkhead tonight it needs a newer lower section across the bottom and some patches on the left and right hope i can save this panel as its not to bad. also give the rear panel a coating or red zinc primer i didnt need to spray the lower half but as the freezing weather is about and i wont be able to do the rear panel till the new year i fort i might aswell give it a coat to keep it out of harms way of that rust we all no! comments welcome thanks for looking  =]

Some good progress there mate!

Your rear bulkhead looks totally saveable, when you get your boot floor in, it will be fairly easy to template up for the repair.
I've still got mine to do yet, but it's on the list :-)

What was your parcel shelf like? Mine had been to war I think!

It's starting to look really good now tom, your doing a sterling job !

And lol!!!!

You've definitely win the messiest hands comp.

I'm a wuss and wear gloves for everything , as I'm also blessed with the ability to rust steel with one touch. It's a real pain !!

thanks mate i do have another rear bulkhead from anouther mini shell hat i can use for the bottom and a couple of sections from the top i just need to get it out the other shell so i can cut of what i need. the parcel shelf is in good condition just needs the ends replacing. hopefully i can save as much original metal as i can as there isnt much left lol. and yes my hands are still black from doing the subframes the other day i did wear gloves but i kept getting holes from riping them on bolt heads so i took them of and threw them out the way lol cheers tom

y i did wear gloves but i kept getting holes from riping them on bolt heads so i took them of and threw them out the way lol cheers tom

I hate that!! I usually rip open gloves before i have even finished putting them on, they always go right across the palm. I was doing my head gasket the other day and must have got through 10 pairs within an hour.7

Anyway, looks like this is going to come out lovely, Still lots of work ahead but its gonna be a cracking car when done. You have the same sentiments as me when it comes to saving metal. there are so many panels i could have changed on the 25 but decided to keep and repair as its not really the same shell otherwise! i think too many people decided to fit whole panels when its unnecessary just to save time and forgetting originality.

Good luck with the rear bulkhead mate.
