It's nice to see someone else is as mad as I am, as I'm currently doing a very similar project to you by the looks of it, and probably at a similar stage also.
There's no better feeling than looking at a nice new panel on the car, and thinking, ' I done that !'
Following your thread For sure!

Mines a 61 Morris that's had a hard life , used to have a turbo and rallied by looks of bulkhead etc and dash that was in it. Still, I like a challenge hehe
Currently fitting floorpans, they are the one piece,no outer sill style and keep my head scratching lol anyhow, I'm ssshhhh now, this is your project thread !

I've kinda misplaced my early pics of the car when I got her last year,I think they are on my lappy at work, I need to check. I've only got currentish pics to hand, so my thread would be a bit incomplete I guess! Leave it with me though Tom, I WILL do it soon, as you have so kindly layed the gauntlet down for me

Looks like another good days of progress Tom, may i ak what you clean the ash base up with and how you got into the raer seam were it meets the bulkhead to clean it up ? doess look like you,ve done a "Proper job"
Hopefully i'l be abe to get abit of time in once i,ve sold/listed the metro up for sale so i can start catching you back up again , i'l be doing the doorskin on mine T (when i order the correct side! ) so you can follow my progress as i'l be stripping it down to the bare components pretty much to aid clearing out as much rust as humanly possible, Don't want some rust dust from the wire wheel sticking in the inner seams and ruining my paint job in years to come do i
I bought some new hinges in a kit form aswell and there alinminium but still quite strong, also with regards to the bit you say is partly ok , partly not under the sliding glass, its called a lowwer window channel mk1/2 and support rail (depends who you ask)
and is only spot welded in a few places so you can easily remove and replace with this:

just looked and only £8.00 god im happy with that cheap for once and i got the grinding disk so far and then i used this round wire disk loads of wires coming of it like a wire brush and attached it to the end of a power drill and blasted all the paint of to bare metal in the seems it come of easy. there was a few places where i didnt get it back to bare metal like right underneath the lower dash rail but i shuved the wire brush underneath and give it a few swipes. best i can do anyway im not going to sit there with a little dremal forget that lol. yes come on mate your starting to slack! im sure i will have to have a break some time i just want to get the drivers side all nice and clean and new metal in the next 2 weeks. i think i am going to run out or welding wire and gas again cheers tom
