If you are running a dynamo then it's easy to run either negative or positive earth it's just a matter of shorting a couple of wires to polarise the dynamo. I left mine positive as that's what they were originally but it's down to choice really. I also just left the points in but I do have an aldon igniter on my cooper and that works fine.

how do you apply the leaded stuff to mix in the fuel? Thanks tom
Does it not say on the bottle?
usually, the bottle will have a scale on the side and you add one measure per so many litres of fuel straight into the tank

Do you mean battery has -ve side connected to the body? If so you have negative earth set up (dynamos can be, and we're, used in both configurations)......Battery has earth to body?......
-ve Earth is far more convenient.

hi battery is like all minis I have seen live at the back goes straight to floor starter switch and then on to starter motor. The earth is of the battery and bolted to the boot floor. That's the only way I have seen minis done on the battery have I done it right? Thanks TomDo you mean battery has -ve side connected to the body? The lead replacement is easy enough just add the amount to tank dependant upon how many litres adding before you add petrol then it's all mixed without a problem.
If you want to be extra safe use super unleaded as it's 97 octane minimum and the lead additive adds a little more so will be very close to the old 98 octane leaded.
What battery you got as I bought mine from mini spares and it's totally the wrong size and the battery clamp won't hold it secure with the standard bolts, I had to make some different bolts and put some wood in battery box to hold it in,
I have had so many problems with stuff I bought from them I won't get anything other than heritage panels from them for my mk2.
If you need any help with the wiring or dynamo let me know, but I would advise testing dynamo by connecting it to a good battery first and if it runs as a motor then you know it's fine, then make sure points in regulator are clean by using some abrasive paper on them.

It is Practical Classics Magazine, I have it on subscription, it is a great mag IMO. I had a "flashed over" dynamo on my Morris Minor for a few years before giving in to an alternator mainly to bypass the regulator box as I was having trouble blowing the cheap crappy modern lucas indicator relays.
